Nah - UK journos are not that great either. You have to pick one of the good ones. At the end of the day, they all write for entertainment primarily, so you have to factor that in.

The new M2 had a record setting track day on the Nurburgring. I'm sure it will be enough of a trackday car for 99.9% of the population.

It's hilarious how the opinion of one motoring journalist has made G-people foam at the mouth and go out to place a deposit. I find the G series M2 to be ugly to look at, overweight and bloated with tech but that's just me. They took the purist out of the equation somewhat with this car but sure, cherish the fact this will most likely be the last manual "M2" there will ever be.
I couldn't give a rat's proverbial what Harris has to say about the matter. The fact he raved about every single F87 chassis - one after the other - should speak volumes to where this dude's opinion belongs... to himself. And yet, the same people claiming us F87 M2 owners simply "bash" the G87 because it is what it is, need a reminder that buying a car because someone else said so is the dumbest thing since shelling out for an NFT because your mate liked coked-out monkey jpegs. |

It is always the same. Complain -> accept -> praise.
There are only three companies in the world that can do magic with vehicle dynamics: BMW, Porsche and Ferrari. All others have to innovate on something else…

Interesting how Chris Harris brought the trolls out by selling his CS and praising the G87. Heresy!!! All these trolls happen to be F87 owners. Especially the CS owners. lol!!!

I was in the market for a new car when my F30 hit 60k miles. Happened to hit a curb and pop off the side skirt and that really motivated me to get a new car. I saw press photos of the G42 when it was announced and I didn't like the photos, so it went straight out of my mind. When I saw one in person I went to BMW and ordered one. Same thing happened with the G87. I saw photos and thought to myself, I'll never sell the M240i. Low and behold, I go on a BMW rally in early June and I saw a G87 in person. One month later I was driving home on a G87. I'll never sell this car. BMW built exactly my idea of a perfect M car. Interesting enough, I've made posts on here as well about BMW carrying the ethos of the e30, e36, and e46 M3 into this car. To me, the e92 (as much as I love that car) was a departure from that ethos and the f82 and g82 don't continue down that path. I think the 1M was way more of that ethos, and the G87 continues down that line. I love this car. |

"...all the keyboard warriors out on the forum saying this is dog shit are only doing it for one reason, to protect the residuals of their cars at the moment. I don't see why you could drive this back to back with an M2 Comp or even an M2CS and deduce anything other than this is a much, much more competent car."

The thing is so tough! And not just cause its black. That Papaya orange is insane!!! If you could afford an F87 cs you think you would be able to think clearly. Nope. Straight childish behavior, "Its fugly". Please. Grow up.

The only thing kind of sad about the review is that you could see Chris Harris's disappointment with the community. How internet culture could allow people to disregard the fact of the situation. He was truly bewildered and a little confused!! lol! F 'em. I don't want everybody buying this car.

"This is and I don't use word lightly, a sensational motorcar. It might be one of the best all-rounders I've ever driven."
Glad to hear him sum it up like that...... |

Great point! All of the F87 M2CS owners paid in excess of $90k for a car that is exceeded or matched in every metric by a base G87 M2 at a base MSRP of $63k. I still maintain that the joy of driving can be distilled into the category of “experiential” rather than pure spec. The F87 M2CS is a very special car 😀.

Sad, lamentable and pathetic. How about enjoy what you’ve got and stop complaining? I’m happy with my “N55 piece of shit M2 that Harris used to like until he didn’t”. Read my lips: He has “loved” every single version of the M2 since the OG was made in 2016. Let that sink in… or get flushed, idgaf. |

I doubt it. Even if that was the case they already had interest in the car and Chris helped the situation. I've had my car since April. Any idiot could deduce an M3 guts in a shorter wheel base would be fun to drive.
