New headliner surprise
Hello.
I have recently swapped my grey headliner with a black one on my E90 LCI. Turns out the black headliner came from a car with alarm, as the ultrasonic module was found in the rear map lights housing. Sure enough, when I fired up Protool, I now see the alarm module as part of the other modules on the car. But I didn't get the rear mirror alarm light (clown nose) to blink. Anything I can do to get it to blink? My car is not pre-wired for alarm, so retrofitting an alarm is out of the question. Nor do I want it. Thanks in advance. |

You can just pull the alarm module/sensor out of the rear dome light housing. It's just a plug in module.

So you're saying I can't really use it for getting the blinking led as long as I don't have the rest of the alarm setup? I was hoping I can just get that working.

it's not prewired but you were able to plug the ultrasonic module?
Are you sure this is not prewired? The light wont flash since it thinks the hood is open. Double check, the hood switch wire might be there, and if so, jump the wires together so it will think the hood is close. |

The headliner I got has the wiring that connects to the altrasonic module in the rear dome light and it was plugged to it. So, I was hoping by connect it to front dome module it would provide power and data. You just gave me and idea that it might thinks the hood is opened, I might be able to code out that check using Protool..... will try that tomorrow and see if that works.
