All vehicles will lose some degree of performance due to heat soak under the right operating conditions. Just wanted to clarify: Is what this kit does is bypass the portion of the MAF molex and instead gets a signal from a dedicated IAT which is positioned further up the airstream before the filter box?

Since I don't want to assume, based on your 4th picture in the link, it comes with a new dedicated IAT (with a nut and a gripped washer) that we would drill a hole for and secure from the inside of the inlet passage. The bypass cable single end would be plugged into the existing MAF harness and then the Y-split pieces would go to the current MAF (which stays in position) and IAT respectively?
