What turbos are people using in their track cars?

At my last track event, the turbine wheel in my rear turbo separated itself from the rest of the assembly. I’m looking to get new turbos, and the goals are reliability, linear power and minimal lag. RB twos look enticing, but I was curious what turbos people have been tracking reliably.

assuming you're not a robot, and the car is not a daily and the budget is not up to the roof. Assuming also you aware n54s are not the best for track use.

I would go with CTS. Yes they are a rebranded kit, however, with a quality control and some sellers here reported 0 issue on 100s sold.

they have 2 options, I would go with the smaller ''stage 2'', but they have a 2+ kit also. Pretty cheap too.

Amazing value for 550-600hp! Need that $300 inlet relocation kit to run those, but it's worth it.

Just saw a guy on the FB groups the other day who had a brand new set of CTS turbos with only a few hundred miles, that already blew the turbo seal(s) out of them and were smoking like crazy. And since CTS has pretty much ZERO customer service, the guy is pretty much screwed.

If it was me...I would invest a little more into a set of RB Trurbos (OEM Billets, RB 2's, 2+, etc)....Machined, Assembled, and Balanced here in the USA.....buy a company that does nothing but N54 turbos. And you can actually call up Rob Beck, the guy who will hand assemble your turbos....and talk to him about your set, and ask him questions. Pretty hard to beat that. RB's reputation for quality and customer service is pretty much outstanding.

But that's just me.....

yeah but this happen on all brand , even speedtech garett kit. Super easy to screw installation.

See the CTS thread few pages back, youll see not many people having issue.

Since it's a budget turbo, not much people review them, they just install them, and dont report.

Also, CTS have might change, but back in the days, when I use most of their part for my Audi, they were pretty responsive.
And one time, on my exhaust, they provided me the wrong clips, 2 days after, I recieved the right one.

Not sure I would would say Budget Turbo = Don't review, and Don't report.

Look at all the other super cheap ebay turbos out there...just like CTS. Tons, and tons of reviews...videos, etc, etc.

For some reason (I honestly have no idea why)...you just don't see much of anything on CTS turbos. No dyno pulls, no videos, no reviews, no anything.......very odd to say the least.

Not saying that's a reason to say they are junk......it's just weird that you can find dozens of reviews for all the other cheap turbos, but hardly anything on CTS. Not sure why.....

For an extra $200-ish (I think you can still get a set of RB 2's for $1700 if you pay cash).....why would you not go with top quality brand like RB?
