How much boost should I have on COBB Stage 1 Aggressive?
Update on post 4. Boost levels were fine and what I was expecting at WOT on the Highway
I just installed a Cobb V3 and have to say I am disappointed - while I only drove it a mile to see if everything installed correctly I did get on it a few times in 2nd and 3rd and it felt almost stock. I noticed that my max boost is around 10.8-11.1 psi but usually is around high 8s or 9s. Is that normal for Stage 1 Aggressive? I checked the info on the Cobb and it said it was installed and I double checked the installed Map and it said Stage 1 Aggressive. Was I expecting too much or could there have been an issue on install. Should I reflash? As an fyi, I run 93 octane. I also have an ER charge pipe and BMS intake - but those are not installed as I wanted to make sure I could install the Cobb before putting those parts on.

Cobb is offering more conservative gains compared to JB4.
I was running Stage 1 sport not too long ago and I was feeling a slight increase. However the Stage 1 aggressive, I felt the difference during highway pulls. After installing DP, switched over to Stage 2 aggressive with 94 octane it was night and day. I am planning to Protune the car after installing FMIC and it will the same gains or more as JB4. |

Low gears and low RPM I still don't feel a huge difference but I will install the Intake/CP and give it some time. Sorry for wasting everyones time!

Yeah I have the AP3 on stg 1 aggressive. But I started with stage 1 first. I also have CP, drop in filter and BMW PE. Definitely a big difference on stage 1 aggressive. Give it time to learn.

Thanks for all the input guys!
I installed the ER CP and BMS Intake this morning - I will give it a few days and see how it goes. Charge Pipe install was much easier than I thought it would be

you won't be able to make much more boost than normal until you get into the higher rpm ranges with stock turbo regardless of which tune/ mods you are running. vroom!

most of the boost comes on around 3-4k rpm, at the high rpm range your boost tapers back. not sure why you'd want most of your boost at the top? |

I installed the Cobb AP3 "Stage 1 Aggressive Map" with 93 octane on my 2011 335i with a drop-in panel filter and it was like night and day, a very noticeable difference on the first test drive. It did adapt some and got a little better over time. I ran a lot of logs and was always peaking boost in the 15 to 16 psi range.

Don't get me wrong though, I love the Cobb V3 - easy to use, great interface, etc I guess I am already wanting to get DP and jump to Stage 2!

Now if you have the 6AT have Alex @ AlpineMSS.com remote flash the Alpina B3 transmission software in there! Having that done made my N55 W-A-Y more fun to drive. It solves EVERYTHING that is wrong with the Steptronic programming. Rev-matched down shifts, faster shifting, gear read-outs, hold revs longer, better fuel economy. I am actually getting noticeable better gas mileage with the Cobb and Alpina software. |

Not sure what he's charging now but I think it was $60 for a remote TCU flash. I added some coding (like the digital speedo) so that cost a little more. But Alex is the ultimate pro when it comes to remote flashing. I screwed up the laptop/connection part on my end but he pulled out every trick in the book and got it all working flawlessly in less than 20 minutes online.
