Mine was built on the 8/8/22 according to the M Decoder. Although not sure exactly where it's at in its production status as we don't have live tracking.

Hi. I have an assembled 2023!

I am new to this forum, but a long-time BMW owner, including three M3s and my current 2019 M240i XDrive coupe. I have been thinking about the new M240i for over a year. I love my current car, but it will be out of warranty in December, and the new one seems even better. Over the past few months, I tried to locate an available 2022 on a dealer's lot -- which was impossible -- and also tried to find a dealer with an allocation. Last week I ramped up my efforts and contacted 20 BMW dealers -- I live about 45 minutes north of New York City, so there are a lot of fairly close dealers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut -- to see if anyone had an available allocation and, if so, what the estimated production and delivery dates were. As you have all experienced, almost no dealers have an available allocation, and those who do were estimating at least three to six months for delivery. Many did not have any allocations, but were taking deposits for their order bank, typically behind one or more other customers. Then I got very lucky: I found a dealer with a car already in production, which was not assigned to any customer. It was of course not modifiable, but I liked the Brooklyn Grey/Black Sensatec/Aluminum Rhombicle Anthracite/Shadowline/Black wheels (with Premium Package and a few other minor options) that the dealer had configured the car with. If I were ordering from scratch, I would probably have added leather seats and HK sound (both of which I have now), but given how hard it is to find these 2022/2023 cars, I was fine not having these options (and yes, I have read about the mediocre sound quality of the base audio system) in order to get a car a few months sooner. I signed the purchase order and gave a deposit on Monday, and agreed on a fair trade-in amount. The car was status 155/Production Completed, and I was told I might get delivery in six to eight weeks. According to My Garage, the car is in Quality Check, which I understand is the essentially the same as 155. I am super excited, and I look forward to being a frequent participant in this great forum. I also hope that everyone who has been waiting for so many months gets their cars soon!

According to M Decoder my 240 xDrive was built on 8/3/22. I‘m from Germany and don‘t have live tracking too. It would be interesting to know if the M decoder shows the correct production date or just the originally planned one. Bimmer.work unfortunately does not show a date yet.

I do! Maybe we will pass one another on the road in a couple of months. To date I have seen literally only a single 2022 M240i.

By the way, my selling dealer said that they had gotten their first 2023 M240i allocation in mid-June. They had no customer orders/deposits, so they decided to configure the car (fortunately to my liking, as indicated above) and submit the order. This was not a cancelled customer order -- it was an unsold allocation. The car completed production around August 4. I happened to contact the dealer (and 19 other dealers) for the first time the day before. I realize how lucky my timing was, given how long so many others have had to wait (or are still waiting).

And in my experience over the past few months, every 2022 M240i listed as being "available" or "for sale" on a dealer website, cars.com or autotrader.com was in fact already sold, and it seems the listings were intended only to generate inquiries from potential buyers, who of course the dealers then invited to put down a deposit or submit an order. As explained in another thread, I got lucky when I contacted 20 dealers in an effort to find an available allocation. I actually found a dealer with a car already in production but not sold to any customer.

I went to Ray Catena and they had me 5th on a waiting list for August allocation. I was looking to get the car around November/December anyway. My friend put me on to a sales person at wide world BMW across the Hudson and they told me they had one allocation still available for July. Managed to snag it and put the order in. I wish I read up more on the car before I ordered because I only got the stock radio.
Oh well, I guess I should be happy I got most of what I really wanted.

those listings are auto-generated. im not sure which linking system does it but when i car a dealership has on order gets to a certain point in the production line it automatically gets submitted to cars.com and probably other sites as well.
