Mak's F10.......

As much as I loved my E9x, I am loving my F10.
It is not as fast as 6 pot but it is economical and more comfortable.

For the time being, here is a pic of it

And here is 8 Speed automatic Sport transmission

Ideally, I would have loved F11 but that was too big for me. Back to Saloon but rear folding seats were must.

Specs of the car
2011
Sophisto Grey
520d

And here are the specs:
Heated leather seats
Heated steering wheel
Sport automatic transmission
Flappy paddles on Steering wheel
Deleted model lettering
Glass sunroof
Interior mirror with automatic dip
Through loading system + rear folding seats
Headlight cleaning system
Front and rear PDC (standard on 5 series)
Professional navigation
Combox
6FL (usb/ audio interface)
6NF (music interface) and looking for iphone 5 media cradle
6NR (bmw applications with internet radio)
BMW online
BMW internet
Voice control
Active pedestrian protection (standard on 5 series)
Gloss black interior trim

And that is it for the time being. For me, sports automatic transmission is a deal breaker. Car seems to be always in the right gear. I can switch between standard, sport and sport plus settings by switching them and yes they make engine, steering wheel and suspension alteration.
When you put the car into sport mode and put the gearbox into sport transmission mode, it is very responsive!

Few mods planned such as suspension tweaking and body work enhancement.

Nice mate

I think this will be my next move TBH - although I think I'll stick with a petrol version and in Sport guise.

Well F3x has reduced the prices of F1x. I think you will have to wait bit longer but will be worth while.

I would love to go for M sports but I have different plans this time. I was going to change the springs whether M or SE.

Steve

I am going to go mental and follow 320d guys doing M3 coversion

So plan is
- M5 body kit without side skirts / M badges
- 20 inch wheels
- Xenon retrofit
- Quad exhaust with M5 kit
- TV tuner with CIC / or NBT retrofit
- eibach pro
- Spoiler
- Front bumper lip
- Speedometer changed to mid level (gives more information)

PS: Speedometer is already so good. You get navigation instructions at the bottom of speedometer. Also, colour is white on the bottom LCD. During the night time, it changes it colour to orange to avoid any distraction.

Nice car.
That is correct. I think it has dynamic driving control. No comfort mode.

Nice to see you here. Hope you are enjoying your car. Few years and then perhaps merc.

I think its this gearbox which makes the whole car a different animal. Bmw could have launched it in E9x as it is out since 2010.
However they left it for F-series so people move on to F30 / F10.

Blimey Sam missed this one!!! Read your other thread re selling the 330d, the house and mortgage situation and all that. Needs must and TBH I'd do exactly the same.

Re your latest steed well versed re these as we are seeing then now, they are lovely fir a car of this size to drive, though big they are very comfortable roomy and as you've stated with the auto are fairly lively.

We've had a 320d M Sport Tourer Auto as a company vehicle now for 2 years now and fir me it's the gesrbox in that car thst really makes it whst it is deceptively quick, makes the E9x auto set up look and feel a tad antiquated.

So we are looking forward to mid January next year when we get its replacement another tourer this time a 335d

The idea behind getting the F series cars was to learn about them as they are different as you'll discover in many ways from the E9x series plus in the near future things mapping wise will happen with the F series that we will,be a part of which is all I'm going to say for now
