Highest mileage seen on N52 engine

The N52 is known for its reliability, for fun share the highest mileage you've seen on a surviving N52 engine.

My car has 92k miles, I think it's just about broken in.

You have never had a code thrown in 207 k or do you mean your car currently has none?:

hey Efthethreeoh - where are you please chime in!!!

I'm at 117K - which is just a puppy compared to F THE 30

Update to Aug 2022 - I'm now at 181K - and still going strong - (knock on wood).

I did recently have to change my valve cover because by PCV went bad and by BMW's stupid design it is not easily separable from the valve cover.

Oh I've had a few in the past. Never for more than a day or so. I'm big on preemptive maintenance. If I have to replace something, everything that you "mind as well change while your at it" is going with it.

My N52 is only at 110k, but my M52TU had 261k when the transmission finally gave up. Engine was still running great. It wasn't even maintained very well...it got what it needed if something broke, but very little preventative maintenance.

I'm coming up on 130K myself. Most of the issues/error codes I've encountered have been electrical annoyances. The interior will fall apart at the seams long before the engine refuses to turn over...

Did you ever change transmission oil and filter before the trans gave up?

My friend has 137,000 miles on his 07. I'm at 67,000 miles, and it's a 08. Still love the way it drives, and looks. Will be keeping it for a while. I bought it new, and no car payment since 2012.

I only had it from 220k on. It was changed for the first time at 200k when there was a delay shifting into R or D. The pan gasket started leaking around 220k and it was done again at 230k.

I once appraised a 328i with 250ish on the N52. Ran just fine.

LOL. Haven't been in this subforum for a while...

It's at 318,200 miles as of parking her this evening.

So OP, I've seen an N52 with over 318,000 miles. And no they are not all highway miles, trust me. Oh, and my average OCI is just over 14,000 miles. I'm running straight 10K OCIs now.

You have many many more miles left Grasshopper. No need to over do the maintenance. I've used only BMW oil and OE filter. She's using 2 liters between changes now but running pretty much perfect.

190K
RWD Manual Trans 328i
Oil and filter every 7500
trans and diff fluid every 80k
coolant change at 80k, 120k (coming up on needing one)
water pump at 120k (preventative)
plugs and coils at 90k and 187k (no new coils at 187 but they went on me and I installed old ones)
Belts and hoses at 150k

Brake fluid when it says it needs it and 3 brake jobs

Just had front wheel bearings done too
Issues:
oil pan gasket leak at 90k
oil filter housing gasket at 150k
Flywheel went at 130k (did clutch as well)
Valve cover replaced at 187k (added 3-stage manifold)
Think I had a random sensor go at like 25k that was replaced under warranty
honestly don't remember

Been through 2 sets of struts (front and rear) 1 set of springs (front and rear) and upper and lower arms front

BMW PI and PE
AA tune when it first came out

Drive it like I stole it and I'm never giving it up!

What is this OCI? Are you the guy that has the 325i in the smokey mountains that spent 97K on the car up to 300k miles?
