SES Code P02D1 Diagnosis path?

Owned this car for 1.5 years and feel like I have an SES more often than I don't. Previously it as DEF related stuff, now this one.

I did some searching on this and best I can come up with is in 2014 there was a thread and many indicated either DDE, injectors (which didn't seem to resolve any problems), or possible CBU? Any more experience since then? Where to start?

I've seen no indicative change in performance, but car has thrown this code twice in a row now.

Newbie question, but is the DDE just a computer? Easily replaceable? Not even sure where it is or how much they might cost. Thread indicated there has been numerous new versions of this component over the years.
