Pumped to see this thing in person, especially in Thundernight!

The one on the platform looks exactly like my store's HEA car is spec'd.

True but I don't know how you do that without pretty much replacing the whole front end, same goes for the rear taillights.

I tried to think of everything to make this look like what it could've been, but I just don't see anything you can do that wouldn't cost a fortune. Too bad BMW screwed up so many little things on what could've been a beautiful car.

I'm sure quality control will be as good as Germany. BMW is not dumb, they get these things right.

With that being said, I miss when some of these BMWs were produced in Germany. My dream vacation was buying a new M2 and picking it up at BMW Welt then exploring Europe's best roads and mountain passes. Now that I'm coming to the age I can afford such a car the dream is impossible to fulfill.

No this couldn't be more wrong, the m cars are generally built in the same plant as the series models, even the M3 and m4 have been built in different plants than each other when the series models are built in different plants

this new Mexico factory is state of the art & latest Robot technology. I expect these 2 series to be as well built as the Germany plant so revered

100% agreed.

While I have 0 issues with these cars being produed in Mexico, taking 2 weeks off to explore Europe in a fresh new M2 would be a dream.

Not true.

For example, all M of the X platform are already produced in the US.

Exactly. Now we know for sure that the G87 will only be built in Mexico because we have confirmation from BMW that all worldwide G42 production will be done at the plant in Mexico.

Agreed, the headlights are on point. The whole front end is modern and aggressive.

Great color and I’m excited that the mighty 2 series can now have a better color palette including individual colors. However, the design is off the mark. Too many crazy shapes crammed in all over. Headlights don’t instantly pronounce this model as a BMW. Side profile is ok, but too JDM looking for my taste. At least the grill isn’t buck toothed!!

Nobody can make the case that this car is uglier than the F series IMO. It's a worthy evolution of the last gen IMO. Instantly makes the F series look outdated.

Only problem is, from what i've seen, purple is the best colour. The lighter colours don't suit it at all.

I think it'll look great in BSM.

Any news about the M Sports Exhaust? My F22 has one and there is no way I’m trading my car for a G42 if it doesn’t sounds as good.

Well it obviously won't have it at launch...but I'm going to safely assume it'll be available within <6 months.
