I'm #1 for an allocation with my dealer, and planning to retire ~April 15, so it could be a nice retirement present for me! (and yes being in my early 60's I'm probably not the typical demographic for this car)
You would be surprised. I personally know 2 guys in the 60s with previous gen M2s. And have met many others at car meet. But at a Porsche meet it's unormal to see older gents. Sometime us almost 40 year old feel young compared to the Porsche guys lol.

I have always joked that the minimum age requirement to own a Porsche is fifty.

No age requirement for Corvettes, at least not in the Southeast as I have witnessed many 20-30 something’s driving them.

Spent my whole life in the SE. Older models, yes. New models - def mid-life crisis age and up.

I'm 65 and driving an M2 Comp & Golf R. Most of the guys in the local BMWCCA chapter are geezers around my age. Your age and choice of ride is not unusual in the least.

I think SA is trying to manage my expectations. Initially stated Q3 but then told me to assume early October.

Makes me think they will have limited allocations.

Will ask for more allocation info early Jan. Timing works for me though.

Likewise regarding the SE. The SC low country is vastly different versus my current location.

That is how my local CCA chapter is, mostly retirees.

Oh I know, I’m President of my BMW CCA chapter…. I’ve had a number of BMW’s over the years, including a M2 LCI that I sold late summer when I saw the market starting to decline. Also about the same time sold a low mileage, manual trans sport package E39 wagon that had been in our family since 2004. I recently picked up an E93 335is for my wife to have a fun summer car, and I have a nicely modified E82 128i that will become a track car when the G87 arrives. Then there’s my 1995 M3 race car!

Exactly the same as my build, except for color. I’m going with Alpine White.

Is anyone getting a loyalty rebate? Does BMW still offer that? It's usually $500 or so if you own or have owned a bmw in last 12 months.

You can get that if you’re a BMWCCA member. If you aren’t and do the three years you can drop it down to a six month requirement prior to delivery rather than a year.

Yea… first deliveries in April so that's only 5 months away.. I should have signed up sooner.

Paying cash so rate discount doesn't matter for my situation.

I'm 74 driving an F87 M4 manual. 2nd on my dealer's preorder list for the M2.

No one knows what rebates, if any, will be available. No one will know until the cars are built. But more importantly, if you do not finance with BMW there will be no option for a rebate. I imagine there will be no loyalty rebate though.

No US allocations came out today. That's sad. It might be January until any allocations come up, but mid-month allocations are possible.
