I have a 24’ g42 with ztk so I got the skid plate a while back.

But for the two brackets towards the rear I couldn’t get them on where they’re supposed to, like the brackets are not in the right place.

I attached some photos. Can anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong or did they send the wrong product maybe for another model

I had to improvise and use only one screw on each side

Does Turner say that the part is compatible with the 2024? I’m surprised BMW changed the undercarriage between non-LCI model years.

Well turner just said it fits g42 m240i, and I assume the undercarriage should be the same. Idk what’s happening

I installed the Turner skid plate on '22 G42 several months ago. Something doesn't look correct in your photos compared to what I remember from when I did the install. This photo (originally posted by MPR on this forum) shows the correct positioning of the bracket.

It really only can go in one way (you can’t mess it up), wondering if maybe they sent you a plate for the wrong car.

So either wrong plate or manufacturing defect, the bracket mounting holes are way too close to where the mounting bolt is.

Here’s a pic with some reference to mounting point on the cross member, note the orientation of the bracket. Good luck.

Are you 100% certain you have the brackets on the correct side facing the correct way? When I installed mine it took a while to get the orientation correct. Then it all lines up perfectly.

You can actually see at one point I had the orientation incorrect. Compare yours to mine. Also check your part number.

I fail to see there’s any other way to align it. Screw the two screws into the bracket from the plate, then it only leaves one way to do it. I’m still waiting on TMS to get back to me

Did you remove the black plastic at the front of the oil cooler prior to install?

I need to go put a small spacer because mine is rattling against the cooler… but when I’m under there I’ll snap some photos.

The website gives a phone number for Sales and Customer Service support.
Why not just give them a call?

You’re right, I should just call them. Maybe they are late on emails

Do call. Their emails go thru someone who “screens” then this person relays back and forth. I got so frustrated when telling them the Turner’s brackets could use a couple more mm’s as the plate is too close to the cooler and causing minor vibrations.

At the end, all I was told is that the assembly is designed as intended.

I loaded mine up with around 5 stainless washers and used a longer bolt, as I had to make room for the SS mesh over the square holes.

Did those bolt right into the factory holes? This was for the back two bolts correct? Did you do anything different for the front four screws? I think I stripped one and now with my lip they could be a few threads longer. .
