Winter floor mats for M2 G87 MT

I’ve been looking for a good set of winter floor mats for my M2. Weather tech sent me an email a few days ago with custom liners for… wait for it… a manual transmission!

I received them yesterday and they fit perfectly. Enjoy.

Weathertech are great mats. They fit, are effective in wet weather and last forever.

So they now make mats compatible with the manual transmission? Or is this something they will one-off customize if you ask?

I’m not even sure what the fitment issue is…imagine the clutch pedal interferes where the mat comes off the footrest?

I'd be into them except for the awful logo/branding.

The logo is just a sticker, you can easily peel it off. The harder part is finding something that will fit in to replace it with. You can probably find something on ebay.

I ordered a full set of mats and the cargo liner from weather tech for my 24 X5 and they’re junk. Thin and cheap plastic. They cost over 500 bucks for the set. Never again. I ordered a set of the M Performance Carpets for the G87 and they’re great and another set of the all weather mats for the front seat and passenger. They’re 5x thicker and flexible compared to the injection modeled weather techs.

I had weathertech liners on last car. Weren't available when I got the G87. The M Performance all weather ones though were. Fit and look great. And don't have that plastic like foot feel if that matters to anyone. Just as easy to clean as well.

Manual? A lot of AT options.

Or one could just look in the classified section of this forum for some great BMW matts.

I personally don't buy weathertech mats. They are good for rainy or snowy climates. I've lived on a ranch in the past. Muddy shoes need extreme mats.

Yes but, does Weathertech now make mats that fit the Manual Transmission G87? My experience is they provide much better coverage for the floor especially for those of us driving these things in snow.

Ok. Decals are a huge improvement to the weathertech branding. Picked up a pair. Thanks much.

I’ve had a set (Weathertech) for my X5 and have no complaints. That said, the hard plastic material isn’t fabulous., They do provide excellent protection and have lasted 4 year going-strong so far.

I’d like a nicer looking/feeling material but… it’s just a floor mat so, for $250 front and back, these work. Maybe I’ll try to find a set of the M-performance mats in the future.

*I did* then I went to the weather tech website the day of the post and it was not updated yet. Figured *I'd ask* *someone who got them* *to see* *if* *they do in fact not interfere with* *la manual.*...and my avatar is a piece of **** so take from that what you will.

EDIT: Mats for the manual are now officially on the Weathertech website. I'm good. Agree with their sticker, I just take them off and stick them to something else, the mats however are fabulous.

Same here. Ended up getting a set of BMW front mats and trunk mat. There are things I like about both the BMW ones and Weathertech ones (based on my last set of Weathertechs)

Didn't want to wait for Weathertech because I wanted mats earlier rather than later. Glad to see they are out, but happy with my BMW ones.

Both brands (BMW and Weathertech) are big motorsports supporters, so it's a win either way! I kind of figured I had already donated enough to BMW by buying the car, though, so probably would have bought the Weathertechs if they were available for manual at the time.

I use to have Weather Tech floor matts too (because I thought they were top notch units). Until I found a brand that fit much better & hugged the interior more tightly / cleanly. But don't take my word for it. Try out the highly recommend 3D MAXpider floor mats...

I personally like the coverage of tuxmat even with a little cutting and not a perfect fit. Being in the Midwest, interiors get very nasty. Depending on your use though, weathertec might be a better option.
