B12 pro kit alternative

As I was finally ready to purchase a B12 kit, I found out that no one has these in stock and it looks like it will be quite a while before they come back in stock.

Anyone have any recommendations? Car will never see a track, just a dd that I like to toss around sometimes.

Thanks

You can buy the springs and shocks separately, albeit at a higher price. Since the Bilsteins are out of stock as well, you could consider Koni Sports (yellows). I wanted Eibachs and FSD's but after procuring the European Eibachs for my xdrive sedan, I couldn't get the FSD's as they're in the middle of a product transition.

Disgusted, I ordered a set of ST coilovers since they're at a similar price point. I'm not suggesting the ST's since I haven't installed them yet, but shock choices are limited currently.

I was actually looking into the Koni Fsd/eibach setup. I'm rwd so not sure If that affects them being in stock or not.
I don't want to do coil overs are they are not needed for me. I'll never change the height.
I'm also looking at koni yellows with eibach. This is so annoying, I was set on the B12

There is a website called tdot performance that had the B12 kit for e90. They might still have it. Best to check.

Edit: you're in luck. Looks like they do.

https://www.tdotperformance.ca/2009-...ti%5B0%5D=4518

Amazing price too!

Cool. Thank you. Price wise they are however $200 more and that's before customs fees to get to me.

Same situation I was in. Koni yellows are in stock. I've had great success with them on half a dozen or so cars but the last set I bought for my wife's car was a dud.

RWD FSD's are not showing in stock at a couple of places I checked. The good news is that if you can wait, the new active technology shock that replaces the FSD is less expensive.

I am literally in the same boat, with a leaky rear shock. I called ajusa which has the lowest price on b12 I've seen, said may not get them till August. I also contacted tdot performance and they said not until July, but he couldn't verify that they would in fact actually arrive by then.

At this point I would consider the bmw PS kit, if not for the underperforming sway bar that it's bundled with.

I'm curious if there's a specific koni/ spring combo that anyone would say is comparable to b12 (though not fsd kit) along with what settings for the konis.

Koni 1145-1014

Check them out at one of the forum sponsors, tunersports, or lmperformance. The last 2 sites show them in stock but you'll have to call to confirm as I ordered FSDs from 2 vendors that showed them in stock.

I just went with the BMW Performance Suspension. I don't have any complaints about it at all. I'm really happy. What's wrong with the sway bar?

What is the replacement to the fsd? I can wait if I have to as I've waited this long but do you have an idea of the release date ?

I posted this in a different thread after my order for FSD's showed a shipment date in May.
From Koni, "Thank you for contacting us here at KONI NA. You will find the FSD dampers are coming more difficult to acquire as the FSD (Gold) product line is currently going through a transition period which in the end will see all the complete FSD (Gold) kits being discontinued. The new generation of FSD Technology which is set to release and be available the end of April, early May and is known as our new Active product line with FSD technology. The newer generation of the FSD feature and function remains the same, in filtering road harshness, and high frequency shock input of overall improved road handling and ride comfort. The most noticeable change that will come with the new Active line will be that the struts and shock will now be painted Red instead of the FSD gold color, as a homage to the original KONI Special shocks. The struts and shocks will also become available for purchase individually or as front/rear pairs, instead of only as a fully kit of four. The part numbers for the individual dampers will be 8745 1234L&R for the front, and 8245 1015 for the rear."

I checked a couple of online retailers that show the part number as valid but out of stock or back ordered.

I just replaced my H&R coilovers rear shocks with Bilstein B8 and I am blown away, paired with Whiteline subframe inserts, its the best mod I have done to my car, rear feels so solid.

I guess it depends on personal preference, but the person I know who had installed this kit said there was a noticeable improvement when he swapped the PS kit sway bar for an m3 sway bar.

Reached out to Koni and they said they’ll begin to receive the first production pieces the week of 5/13. Not sure how that will translate into widespread availability of the FSD replacement.

Go with Koni Yellow if you are considering FSD. Koni yellow are adjustable and similarly priced. Never lock yourself into a non adjustable shock if you can spend the same or similar for adjustable.

Oh yah you and I talked about this on my thread about the PS.

You're the only source of unhappiness for the PS that I can find. Not to discount it. I think I mentioned I don't have a great frame of reference. I get very little body roll now. Comparable to my E46 M3 with stock suspension.
