Brake Dust/(Tar?) Stains on Wheel
How can I get rid of these stains? I regularly use Sonax Full Effect Wheel Cleaner. I have tried Kalsse AIO, P21s Finish Restorer, Clay and P21s Wheel Cleaner Gel. Nothing seems to put a dent in this. Any suggestions?

Might want to try some tar remover (Turtle Wax and Stoner both make OTC products) or clay.

^ +1 on the clay. I'd suggest a give it a few passes with a clay bar. If the dirty areas feel bumpy, you might want to try a medium clay bar, otherwise stick with a fine one, and it should do the trick.

I have those as well and can never get them off....I've tried clay, tar remover, and goo gone. I have it on both my stock wheels and my breytons.
The only solution I found, for the stocks at least, is to sand (fine, 2000 grit or so) and polish. Can't polish matte. |

The only thing that I know of that will help is the Sonax full effect wheel cleaner. Spray it on and constantly agitate with various brushes. It may take some time, but the Sonax Wheel Cleaner is hands down the best cleaner I've used.

I've always used clay. It takes a little bit of rubbing (more than average on paint defects), but it comes off for me.

As a last resort before having them refinished, I've used #0000 steel wool with decent results. It will take time on wheels in really bad condition. If they've actually become pitted and aren't just stains, they may have to be refinished.
