Bird crap left a mark...what to do?

So there was bird crap on the hood that may have been on there for 2hrs max. So when i got home, i got a MF towel, put hot water on it and soaked the bird shit for a couple min. It came off in one wipe but now there is a mark that wont go away even with soap and water. Its not possible to feel, which makes me worried that its ruined the paint.

Was it the method i used or the bird shit itself that caused this? What should i do now to remove it?

Thanks

You might need a light polish at this point. Bird crap is extremely acidic and does damage quickly. Sometimes a water/vinegar mixture will help, but aside from that, I would go buy a bottle of ScratchX from your local autoparts store and gently apply it to that spot with a foam applicator or clean MF.

Depending on how much it etched, it could require being as aggressive at wetsanding. Start with the Scratch-X recommendation, move up to heavier polishes and take it to a professional for removal if you can't get it out by hand. DO NOT wetsand it yourself unless you have professional detailing experience.
