n54 Mysterious coolant leak
Hello,
So i have an 09 335i and ive gotten another infamous coolant leak but i cant seem to find it. Back story, i was driving to work and a started smelling coolant than sure enough my coolant level light came on but i was close enough i just limped it into work probs less than 3 blocks away. I was running late that day so i wasn't able to pop the hood when i arrived to look at it, but i did see all my coolant draining onto the concrete ( i came and cleaned up later ) i did look under hood at this time but didn't see much so i figured it was a lower hose or something so i just had it towed home. I have had this car for 3 years now and have fixed all regular cooling issues ( water pump, thermostat, upper radiator hose, radiator etc ) but as im sure you all know coolant will leave a pretty visible trace of where it may of came from but i see little to no to dried coolant anywhere. So i have just filled the coolant back up and drove the car around until operating temp and it has not leaked. but i am hesitant to drive it more than a mile or so from home in case this leak starts again. I know it isn't internal because when the leak happened i saw it all pouring out from under the car but i cant seem to pin point where... any ideas of where to look ? |

Very odd if it's not leaking now. Did you do a bleed procedure when you topped it off? My guess is water pump either way. They leak all the time, they're largely aluminum so it's harder to see the residue, and if you haven't bled it, it may not have enough in the pump to be pouring out yet.
