Windshield Wiper Jets

Just quick question, when I use the windshield wiper cleaner the fluid just kind of dribbles on the bottom part of the windshield. Is it supposed to jet across my windshield like I normally see on cars? Not sure if mine is defective or not. I mean it still cleans but it just doesnt spray on.

Haven’t you noticed that the “jets” are on the blades themselves? As said, hold the wiper stalk longer so that it streams while the blades are moving

Mine also just builds up fluid at the base of the wiper blade, it doesn't spray at all.

It still works to clean the windshield once the wiper blades make a few passes and assumed it was by design. Should it spray like every other car on the planet?

There are many cars who now use wiper nozzles on the blades themselves rather than nozzles mounted on the hood that spray fluid all over the road, on cars behind, etc

G42s are one of those

Yeah, my 10 year old BRZ does, but I've never seen where the fluid just pools up on the blade like the G42 does. Weird, but it works and no overspray.

There are times when it makes sense to spray the windshield, like to melt light frost before the wipers sweep. Other than that, I like the washing fluid coming from the blades.

I have the same "problem." I don't like it, but if it is that quirky "this is the way BMWs work" aspect to it, then I'll just deal with it. I will raise this with my dealer when I take it in for my damn HEADLIGHT CONDENSATION problem.

It works well, with one exception - it's not so good at clearing bugs off the windscreen - bit like the comment about clearing frost.

Otherwise it's great. BTW, rallycross cars used the system way back in the 1970s.

Does not clean as well as with nozzles on the hood, but it is what it is.
