The margins left and right, you'll see my rear and front are slightly different, minimum margins from reg text is 11mm if you're going for shortest possible (while staying legal, which I've done for a while now as doesn't draw attention), I decided that's a bit small on a standard height plate (which is 15.5mm top and bottom) so I tried 15mm left and right margin on the rear and 20mm on the front.

Here's my previous with 11, found that made the text a bit to unbalanced in a standard height plate.

Mine are 406mm x 111mm from Plates for Cars. This is one of their standard UK legal sizes. I've gone slightly wider than the minimum road legal for 5 digits as I like to see a bit of margin both sides. Like JoeyJoeJo I've stuck mine on.

Thanks for sharing. Good to see the height as ideally I’m aiming to get the plate to sit perfectly between the grill and the lower black trim. However went to a dealer in a botched attempt to measure it up but because their cars already have the stupid plate paint I couldn’t measure from the lower point of the grill (near centre)
I think UK legal will not fit in that space but great to see your examples

Definitely agree with leaving a bit more than legal margin on the edge it looks cleaner.

(Nice driveway by the way!)

What adhesive did you use?

Just the standard sticky pads that you can buy with the reg plates. The key was the prep - polish, Panel Wipe, adhesive promoter.

3M VHB automotive tape would work well.

Hey can you please clarify what the margins on the left and right sides is for your plate, it looks perfect to me.

Pads were just regular 3mm Bek-fix, I'm very particular on plates and frequently change so usually have some around, also took 6mm with me in case needed at the bottom curve but the profile in the middle is almost flat.

The only minor thing that gets on my nerves that I might change at some point is that the 11mm margin at the bottom is applied from the bottom of the reg digit to the top of the BS text so there's actually an extra couple of mm at the bottom so the main reg isn't exactly centred vertically. No one else sees it but the folks on here probably can.
The maker/BS can be 7mm from the digit and min 3mm high so the plate could actually be 101mm with the reg centred and I'd go less into the lower section.
Just ordering my plate and I got a bit confused here.
So what’s the smallest size you could do whilst keeping the reg centred?
