I printed out all the PDFs, identified which one I have already had done, and plan to go have a little chat with my SA.

I see you might be living in the Annapolis MD area. Will be moving there in a few months. What do you suggest as the best place for diesel fuel? Do you all have premium diesel in the area? (driving 335d M package)

Recall Work Done and Planned - Discussion with SA
This is a duplicate post to the one in the sticky "Recall Roundup: SCR/EGR system"
Today I went to my local dealership to discuss recall campaigns/service actions that have been done to my car, and the ones that I believed needed to be done. The items I discussed were as follows: 1. SI B18 05 12 (Replace EGR Valve and SCR Mixer). This was done for me by my local dealership during 21-22 Aug 2012 with 4783 miles. I have the service sheet for this one. 2. SI B18 06 12 (Replace SCR Mixer). I was told this was bundled with #1 above and thus was completed on 22 Aug. I can believe this one. 3. SI B18 04 12 (Replace SCR Metering Unit). I was told this also was bundled with #1 above and thus was completed on 22 Aug. After returning home I checked my service paperwork and I cannot believe this one. If they did it, they neither correctly indicated it on my service sheet and nor did they affix the required service label. 4. SI B13 04 12 (Program Control Unit). I was told this had not been done, and we scheduled it to be done with my first service visit on Monday, 11 March, at 8am. This is the action that includes the gearbox software update as well. So, tomorrow I plan to go back to my local dealership and question them on item #3 and see what sort of answer I get. If they insist they did it, I will ask to have a printout of the work done and why they neither annotated it on my service record nor affixed the label. Monday is my first visit for oil and filter change, DEF top up, and what other goodies might they also do? Wiper blades. Yes, I am a lazy bum, but there is a story behind that.

SI B18 04 12 (Replace SCR Metering Unit). I was told by one dealer a few months ago that this was bundled with/superseded by B18 05 12. However, there was no SCR Metering Unit part replaced when they did my SI B18 05 12. When I had SI B13 04 12 (Program Control Unit) done a couple of weeks ago, I asked them (this is a different dealer) about the SCR Metering Unit one, and they told me the same thing but used different words, vague ones. They said something to the effect "over the long run BMW is responsible for that item and so don't worry about it." But I am still inclined to send a love note to BMWNA and ask the question. Just haven't done it mainly because of lack of energy and not knowing the correct party to direct it to. I have had no issues with anything on these recalls yet. No change in MPG, no change in zoom, no change in gear shifts, nada.

Generally yes, but this campaign seems to direct that the work be performed. particularly that no (new) cars should be delivered or (old cars) released from next service without the work having been done

Nice to see all of the SIBs say they are under warranty regardless of time or mileage. I will be giving them to my SA the next time my car is in for service. I think all of the work has been done, but it will be nice to check them. Coincidentally my car was failing during the time they put out all of these SIBs and the dealer was talking to BMWNA so maybe my car was the guinea pig, who knows. Thanks for posting these.
