***Looking for a Job! Chemical Engineering position in VA
I recently just got laid off about a month ago and I am desperately looking to find a new position. I saw this day was coming about four months back when they asked me to moved to IL and I refused. I have been looking for a new positions every since, which I got few leads from but did not go anywhere.
I have obtained my BS Degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University and worked at a petrolatum additive company for the past four years until I was laid off this past January. My responsibilities at this company included managing of multiple projects in different areas such as synthesizing new chemicals, setting up new labs, developing efficient test methods, and also working closely with sales and marketing to launch new product lines. I am also an inventor of one of their fuel additive products which I have a patent under. I am open to new challenges and willing to work in different positions beyond Chemical Engineering. Please PM and I will email you my resume. Thanks everyone!

Have you looked into applying at NIST?

Sorry to hear yo.. it does sound like you specialize in a specific type of job.
Just a suggestion though, with your knowledge, you may be able broaden out and apply for other job titles such as industrial hygiene-related work (if you are into the safety aspect of things). I know that's where I want to later end up getting my CIH. Big money and the demand is greater with so much environmental concern; I have constantly came across that as a top 10 upcoming jobs in those yahoo articles and public health job reports. I would kill to have your BS right now. P.S. I removed the matte black from the hood. |

Try searching for jobs at local bases. I work with tons of chemical engineers and chemists here at Indian Head NSWC and I know of many others at Pax River and Carderock. Could be working with anything from explosives to airplane and ship coatings. I know they aren't super close to you, but get a govt job and you are set for life.

Now if you have something constructive to say feel free, otherwise I would take your childish attitude back to the Honda forums, as it is not welcome here.
