MD dealers
I bought my E90 at VOB and I would highly recommend them. Got a good price, no games, and an overall smooth process. I had gone to Tischer to look at BMWs months ago and was so turned off by the way I was treated - sitting there for an hour while they get me a price which I new was totally screwing me, that I didn't end up getting a car and didn't even look again for months.
Anyone have any opinions or experience with the dealers in MD for service? Thought it would be good to get a headstart on where I'm going to take my car when I need maintenance. |

I tried to deal with VOB, when I brought out the ED Invoice price sheet, the salesman started talking about extra fees that were not included that he would have to pay (pass on to me), I passed on his deal. I had no problem with Tischer ordering my ED E90. Salesman was easy to deal with and got a fair deal without much of a headache. I could have went down to Passport BMW, I have heard good things about Joern Esser and their ED program.

I talked with several VA dealerships and could not get the service or price I wanted and ended up purchasing from Passport BMW. In late April I placed an order and negotiated a price in about 30 minutes. The car arrived (June 20) about a week before the the promised date and it took less than 10 minutes to complete the sale. I can honestly say my e90 purchase was the easiest, least stressful, most straight foward car purchase I have ever made. I recommend Passport and specifically my salesman John Dugan.

VOB (Rockville, MD) to Tate (Annapolis, MD) and finally Passport (Marlow Heights, MD)
My transaction was placed through Passport. Since I work near VOB i intially started the process with them. They tried to dick me with the price and then with my trade in so I left them hanging, i started negotiating with Tate and the salesman was great. However, the day before I finalized the deal I decided to email Passport and Voula! Deal that I could not beat! VOB Sapphire Black Manual Sports Package Premium Package Destination $38,500 Tate Sapphire Black Manual Sports Package Premium Package Destination *$34,570 Passport Sapphire Black Manual Sports Package Premium Package Destination Park Distance Control Xenons Adaptive Lights Wind Deflector Navigation/IDrive Chrome Exhaust Floor Mats *$37,400 * Price before Tax

I bought my car from Passport BMW. I recommend them. Very professional and very nice. When I came in for my appointment, they had my test drive ready. The salesman handed me the keys and told me to come back when ready. The prize was very good, the best in the area. I also saw many return buyers during my test drive. I recommend you contact Jeff Nicklason at 301-702-6419.

Do VA/MD dealers respond well to offers submitted by fax/email? That's really the only way to negotiate (never see them to be intimidated, side tracked, or guilted) but I'm curious if anyone has any experience using this approach with local dealers. Have you gotten a good deal?
Thanks! -Mike |

For those of you who purchased at VOB what, if any, freebies did you get when you purchased the car. Any advice?

I got my 330i from VOB and worked with Angela Decint in sales dept. I have worked with VOB for years and they are just so-so, though Anglea is great, really easy to work with and knows the car very well. Service is not terrific, VOB knows they sell the most cars and really don't need to bend over backwards in the customer service area, just my experience, others may feel differently.

Currently purchasing my 2nd 330i from VOB. They are FANTASTIC! No other dealership comes close in the DC area and I've tried them all. Kenny (salesman) and Nick (sales manager) are true professionals who are easy to work with.
Gint (yellow team) works wonders and is very accommocating. If you take an active interest in your service, you will have no problems there.

I felt that Passport BMW of Maryland by far exceeded all my expectation. They had very competitive prices, cordial, very professional and even wanted to delivery my car personally to my home and do the paperwork there.
Plus, to add the competitive price that I really didnt work hard to get, they provided my much needed accesories. Accesories that probably cost around $150(rubber mats, chrome pipes, BMW valve cap, 2 BMW key rings, and I didnt asked for them, they just handed it to me. The car was ready when it was promised, clean and provided a one-on-one "How-Tos" familiarization. Business office was just as good, didnt bother me with any added extra BS insurance, and willing to work with me, while I waited for bank note to pay for the rest of the car. Yves Badji@passport BMW Cant wait to see how the service dept will, be and what service car they will provide me! I'll keep you posted ... regards to Fairfax BMW, I have good feelings with their parts depts, at least Richard, when I was getting OEM 161 Alloys, their prices could not be beated, and same goes for Tischer BMW Parts (Mo, Jason, Idris) also. Between these two Parts Dept, I had them duke out the best prices on my bought spoiler, OEM alloys, and jack kit. Im expecting to go thru them when it comes to beating BMW part suggested retail prices again.

VOB
I just took delivery of my E90 (my first BMW) on Monday and I wanted to say that I really feel that I got a good deal and great service from VOB BMW. My saleswoman, Nan Wong, was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable -- She answered plenty of questions from a Bimmer newbie, always getting back to me in a timely manner, often by cell phone or Blackberry; while I was anxiously awaiting delivery, she e-mailed me PDFs of the vehicle inquiry reports with each change in the car's status; and on the delivery date, there was a nice walkthrough of the car and no BS!
If you're curious about price, delivery time, etc., see this thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7541

I initally went to Tisher, they had a good price but not alot of selection. Then i finally tried VOB and they had a ton of cars but not really willing to negotiate the price. So i still decided to go with VOB and the day I was going to go give them a 10,000 check Tisher called and told me that they would give me the car cheaper than VOB no matter what. Well it was like 2,000 cheaper and it had a premium package, which VOB wasnt tryin to give me for a higher price. Tisher is A rated in my book. i will return to them.

VOB and Passport both quote competitively and will match each other. Both internet sales depts are good and friendly and efficient. However, Passport just seemed more organized and on top of things and I trusted their internet sales guy Jim Redden more. They were the only DC metro dealers that was willing to put their quotes in an official email which was itemized for every cost so you knew exactly what you were paying for (options, dealer fees, processing fees, tax/title, tags, tire fees, etc).
