BMW E90 Red Automatic Transmission Light
I'm pretty sure there's a thread about this but I'm still new to the forum and stuff so I just made another one. ANYWAY I need help diagnosing a problem I had yesterday when I was driving. I have an automatic 2006 e90 325xi and when I was driving I gave the car a bit more throttle to pass somebody and the car downshifted to 5th and had a really rough shift with almost like a whining sound during it and the rears almost wanting to lock....it was basically like a stutter in the rear. The red gear with the exclamation point came up so instantly I figured it had to be the transmission. Pulled over checked to see if the car was leaking tranny fluid but it wasn't and the fluid was changed about 1000-1200 miles ago. But I turned the car off and let it sit for about 5 minutes and I turned it back on and the light was gone so I just drove it going home at 30 to be safe. I just want to have an idea of what could possibly be the issue. The car has 80800 miles on it now and I know the ZF tranny on this car is not the greatest and this is probably around the mileage this thing just goes BOOM.
