I’m curious if any one has yet to put there g42 m240i on a scale to get a more accurate weight since us models don’t have opf filters you would think are cars are slightly lighter just curious

At other times I have checked with a truck stop and with permission driven my car onto the truck scale. I pick a slack time. One problem is the intercomm is way the heck up high so work out the procedure with the scale operator (clerk) in the station. |

Yes the only place near me that I know has a scale is scrap yard ,but to risky. Metal and debris all over the place so I don’t trust driving in there with my car worried im gonna damage tires

I could get around to weighing my car. I have corner scales but my car is an X drive. BMW claims it's 123lbs heavier than a RWD. I weigh all my cars with a full tank so I'll have to top it off. Only way to be accurate with someone else.

Got her weight with a full tank. Doesn't match BMW's claim. But you never know how a manufacture weighs their car. Second picture is with me in the car. Great corner weights. Can't wait until Spring so I can rail some corners.
Don't know why the first picture won't post right. Last edited by tahoeacr; 01-06-2023 at 10:02 PM.. Reason: picture |

3814 when BMW site says 3871. Cool that you were able to share. Close enough. Confirmed 3800 range.

You are the man I figured it was slightly lighter then bmw claims considering no opf filters and I would imagine depending on options some might be lighter then others, how much gas was in the car when u weighed it? |

Good question one would think the ZTK package that would add some weight between the oil cooler and lines, wider tires up front, wider rims upfront, extra cooling fan, bigger rotors, bigger caliper that’s got to add up to a little chunk of weight

tahoeacr, thanks for sharing.
neat scales and reader. Interesting how dead on close the two fronts are. rears are close, but if one wanted it closer, just shifting the heavy battery would get ya there (assuming there is room, probably not). |

Car specs:
No ZTK package. This sticks in my crawl. The dealer couldn't verify if it had bigger discs so I didn't order(back in July) it. Parking Assist Package Premium Package M Sport Package Pro Thundernight Metallic paint which IS the fastest color so obviously it is lighter paint. danallxt, the battery cables go out right next to the battery. If you wanted to move this over(require drilling new wholes) you could move the battery over 3-4 inches probably but I don't think that would change it enough. If anyone has the ZTK package around here I wouldn't mind weighing it to see. Last edited by tahoeacr; 01-23-2023 at 12:55 AM.. Reason: add |
