The real Ms you can option carbon bucket seats which I'm sure will be an option on the new M2 but they are not on the M240. Hopefully that helps your ego a bit. Also the new M3 has this identical screen, some have already been delivered.

You could already get the m seats on the 340i as well and the 3 series was released in 2018 with idrive 7 and the M3 was only released in 2020… |

BMW calls it an M, and they made it. What should we call you?

A couple of very small extra things I noticed.
The steering wheel is slightly re-designed with a cut-out in the centre piece. Possibly the heating steering wheel button is now inbuilt to the screen too (If purchased) Or even it could now be something that can be purchased after delivery with software unlock? Looks like they are using the newer style shark fin aerial found on the 4 and 3 series LCI. Might be some more changes elsewhere we can't see from the video. I'm sure more will come out down the line with what else might of changed. |

Better than using the touch screen, worse than buttons. My personal preference is an in-between - just leave buttons for temperature, fan speed, and seat heaters. I have no problem making the rest touch/voice only

Except for fan speed (which gives you instant aural and physical feedback), practically all of the current hard buttons require you to look away from the road and to a display to confirm your updated settings. |

This is the test quoted by all of those articles.
https://www.vibilagare.se/nyheter/ph...ars-test-finds Even with the flawed methodology of testing only one random non-touchscreen car, that test confirms that drivers can be nearly as fast with simple touchscreen UIs as they are with the hard button interface of that one Volvo. A better test design would pit the touchscreen cars against each of their immediate predecessors. iDrive 8 vs. 7 is far more informative than iDrive 8 vs. 2005 Volvo. Additionally, a breakdown of times for each sub-test should be disclosed. If all the time is lost on the screen brightness sub-test, but they were neck and neck on climate control, that’s important to know. Also important to know is how much time the drivers were given to learn the 11 UIs. How old were the drivers? That test design and published results leave things to be desired. |
