The real Ms you can option carbon bucket seats which I'm sure will be an option on the new M2 but they are not on the M240. Hopefully that helps your ego a bit. Also the new M3 has this identical screen, some have already been delivered.

You may need to sit down because it sounds like you haven't heard about the 40i's getting carbon roofs either.

You could already get the m seats on the 340i as well and the 3 series was released in 2018 with idrive 7 and the M3 was only released in 2020…

BMW calls it an M, and they made it. What should we call you?

The US and UK configurators show 2023 models
The Canada site still shows 2022 but has ID8 and the new gear selector… it doesn't show the new spoiler or M logo on the front grill or the new dash M trim sadly. Hoping it's a surprise and does come on the car.

The passenger side view is the worse angle. I wish BMW did a better job in this regard. But overall I think the screen looks great.

A couple of very small extra things I noticed.

The steering wheel is slightly re-designed with a cut-out in the centre piece. Possibly the heating steering wheel button is now inbuilt to the screen too (If purchased) Or even it could now be something that can be purchased after delivery with software unlock?

Looks like they are using the newer style shark fin aerial found on the 4 and 3 series LCI.

Might be some more changes elsewhere we can't see from the video. I'm sure more will come out down the line with what else might of changed.

Sounds like a you problem then.

Seriously, how often are people messing with the climate controls in the middle of driving?
All the damn time

Fumbling for climate controls in a sub menu is a poor design

Better than using the touch screen, worse than buttons. My personal preference is an in-between - just leave buttons for temperature, fan speed, and seat heaters. I have no problem making the rest touch/voice only

Temperature is always on the bottom of the infotainment screen , I would say it’s it’s easier than looking down to press buttons, not in some sub menu .
I just set my temperature at 21c auto .

Hard buttons offer no safety benefit over fixed-position touchscreen UI elements for functions that don’t provide strong, immediate, and precise non-visual feedback when changed.

Except for fan speed (which gives you instant aural and physical feedback), practically all of the current hard buttons require you to look away from the road and to a display to confirm your updated settings.

Quick google search says you are incorrect.

This is the test quoted by all of those articles.

https://www.vibilagare.se/nyheter/ph...ars-test-finds

Even with the flawed methodology of testing only one random non-touchscreen car, that test confirms that drivers can be nearly as fast with simple touchscreen UIs as they are with the hard button interface of that one Volvo.

A better test design would pit the touchscreen cars against each of their immediate predecessors. iDrive 8 vs. 7 is far more informative than iDrive 8 vs. 2005 Volvo. Additionally, a breakdown of times for each sub-test should be disclosed. If all the time is lost on the screen brightness sub-test, but they were neck and neck on climate control, that’s important to know. Also important to know is how much time the drivers were given to learn the 11 UIs. How old were the drivers? That test design and published results leave things to be desired.

I was only saying to change the temperature that it’s always right in front of your line of sight rather than looking down to alter the temp not touchscreens vs buttons in general .
To me I can’t see how it’s difficult.

Fastest? How about safety? Time to learn the UIs?? How old are the drivers? Do you realize the very fact those concerns exist speak volumes to the non-intuitiveness and poor ergonomics of a piece of glass?
