Once I get the allocation, the 1K deposit is not longer refundable.

Ah, this sounds like what I'm going through then. They still haven't taken my $5,000, but I did get approved for Financing yesterday. They told me 7-10 month approx. time frame to delivery.

I guess I'm really lucky with only being 4th in line, vs 30 like some of y'all

That sucks they ran your credit already if you’re not expecting the vehicle for long. Especially since it’s the end of the month. Approvals run for 90 days from the end of the offer term period (usually month to month).

Did they discuss that with you? I’m conservative about Hard pulls on my credit though I realize some don’t really care.

I was told that BMW financing reduced the "lock" to 45 days.

No, I didn't really think about that. It seemed like this was the most important step for them before they even took my deposit (they still haven't).

Told by whom? I was approved in early March and it’s good for 90 days from tomorrow (3/31).

But it wouldn’t surprise me with all the Fed hikes that they’d want to stay more current.

Not the approval but the rate lock (for auto financing, I dont know if they are the same). I was told by finance mgr at BMW. He said it used to be 90 days but the reduced to 45. He could have been full of it, dont know. I am more than 90 days out so it doesn't matter to me at this point.

If you were locked in before they changed it to 45 days they would still honor your 90 day lock.

I haven’t been told otherwise and actually confirmed just last week in writing it was good thru end of June because I was concerned it would expire before Delivery.

I got my VIN today! Woo!

So now I can comment on my dealer. BMW of Warwick, Providence RI.

They said I was first on the list, and that I'd get into production in April, and seems to be accurate. Was great at answering every question I've had so far. 1K deposit, no ADM either.

So big thumbs up from me!

Did they have a required $1500 ceramic add on for your M2? They required it for the M3 when I called them last month. Just wondering if it was across all models or just the M3.

Honestly, I don't know if it's required because I wanted a ceramic package anyway. They didn't present it as mandatory to me. I haven't gotten any other ultimatums or hard sells from them, so it would seem out of character. But dealers are weird and sometimes draw red lines in unexpected places.

Be careful what you ask for. Most dealer installed ceramic is garbage. I would vet their package before spending money on it.

Fair point. My diligence here consisted of asking a friend (with an M3) who had the same package, he said it was good. If it's not, we'll just not be friends anymore.

10-4. Since they do so many, a lot of times it's just a tank of stuff and a spray gun followed by a wipe down. Maybe try to scope it out.

I won’t do business with a dealer adding undesired “required options” to the sale. Never. YMMV

Mt. Laurel BMW in NJ is UGLY.

Had two G87's arrive today, neither car is sold. $10k markup on both cars. I was offered $7,500 because my family has bought cars from them for a decade.
They would not let me test drive either car unless I did a credit app and put $500 down (refundable). I almost did it just to drive it but in the end said screw it/them.

To get on a list to order would also be for over MSRP car, probably $5k or more. They have a 2 year waitlist so I guess there are a lot of dumb people! MSRP orders are easy to find.

They were able to order 2 HEA cars by using a fake customer or dealer name for one. When I was outside talking to the sales guy, their Regional BMW rep was walking by asking if the G87's were sold. He kept signaling to lie to her, and had everyone say they were both sold already. The only way they could have 2 already arrive is if one was a customer order. Apparently this is happening a lot and is frowned upon.

Okemos BMW (serra auto campus), is top notch. I was in an accident in my 2020 M2c on 3/28. I called my guy there, right from the scene. Approved the next day for their arriving zb/manual m2 at msrp. See them. If you're in Michigan, see them. They will take care of you. This is the 4th bmw I have bought from them, and my first ever brand new car.

They have an alpine white m2cs with 9k miles for $88k also. In case anyone is interested...

A quick footnote to my "good" rating for Warwick, RI.

Even tho I already committed to buying a non-HEA (in production now), they said I could take the HEA for a spin when it arrived. They texted me today letting me know the HEA was in, and we set up a date so I can drive it. Sent me some pics too.

They didn't have to, but they did. It's a nice touch, and appreciated. The CA has been great at keeping me informed (and hyped) throughout, as a smart salesperson should.

This doesn't sound right to me. Dealerships can't order HEA cars. The dealership just gets them. Lots of dealerships have lots of customer orders. I dont think this has anything to do with HEAs.

That being said, I am not accusing you of fibbing. But it sounds like someone from your dealership just doesn't understand how things work.

Just another way to get some markup without calling it markup. I'm paying about $1200 in tint, and some other garbage stuff i don't need but I figured it's not as big of a deal since i prefer to get the car locally instead of driving 600-800 miles to get it from somewhere else. the BMW CCA rebate will offset some of it.
