Does anyone prefer 3M adhesive remover vs Goo Gone? Plastic razor blade?

3M adhesive removing wheel helps a lot, just gotta take quick breaks to let it cool down so it doesn't scorch your clear coat

Probably not helpful, but I had my PPF place do it and they said it was a pain in the ass to remove it. They were originally going to do it no charge but it took them so long, they added an hour of labor. It was worth installing the carbon CS-style spoiler though. Car looks significantly better than with the paint matched lip.

Get a "caramel" or "toffee" wheel for your drill from Amazon - works great.

That specific one wasn't in stock when my car was delivered in April of last year. I bought an M240i one from AutoTecknic that was basically identical.

I think they all use the same manufacturer and just rebrand it under their name anyways.

The Goo Gone was worthless. I did not try the Goof Off Professional as I just had a small amount left. The 3M Advanced is safe for "nearly all cured paints" ( lol ). If you have 3M General Purpose or 3M Woodgrain and Stripe Remover I believe those two are safe for all cured paints. So it depends on just what 3M product you have ( they have many). Go to their website for specifics disclaimers, etc. Anyway, I did not have a 3M wheel and did not want to order one, but I hear the 3M brand one works well and works best. What I did was heat the adhesive with a hair dryer, spray on the 3M and lightly "scratch" the old adhesive a bit with a plastic trim tool to work it in and then lightly scrape it off with the bondo squeegee to remove it. Followed by a wipe down with a bit of 3M on a rag and then final cleaning with IPA. I took my time and was careful with this particular product and it worked great. No scratching, maring, or dulling of the clear. Had I not dicked around with the Goo Gone for awhile before moving to the 3M it would have taken far less time.

Does the 3M wheel need any sort of compound with it? Or run it dry?
And this is the one? https://www.amazon.com/Adhesive-Remo...00063VT0G&th=1

I did mine with that 3m wheel. Scary and I felt I was destroying my paint but not a single mark. Worked flawlessly.
