precat oxygen sensor help

I keep getting p0420 n p0430 I want to change my 02 sensors. where is the best place to buy them?

These are the "Catalyst Efficiency Below Threshold" codes. New O2 sensors may or may NOT fix the problem. In majority of cases, the cats need to be replaced.

These codes can also be triggered by exhaust manifold leaks (pre-cat), so check for those.

Also, these codes can be triggered by moisture condensation or dew inside the catalytic converters, especially if you drive short distances and don't allow the cats to heat up enough to burn off the moisture.

There can potentially be other reasons for this, but they would be accompanied by additional trouble codes, so I am not gonna get into those right now.

To troubleshoot, clear the codes and take longer drives for a few days. If the codes come back, time for replacement.

When a lambda o2 went bad on my car last fall, those were not the codes I got. P2CAB and P2CA7 I believe were the ones my car was throwing.

These are BMW specific codes that cannot be read with a generic OBDII tool. It's probable if OP used a BMW specific scanner, more codes would be revealed, other than those generic P0420 and P0430 codes.
