I'm continuously getting a cylinder 4 misfire. I changed out spark plugs and have swapped coils from one to four still get misfire, checked compression and it like 220, I took out fuel injector and attempted to clean it. By wiping carbon off tip. Still miss firing. Only idea vmi have left is the injector even though cleaned is still bad. As I didn't swap injectors from one to the other. Can injectors go electronically bad? Don't want to blow 500.00 just for it not to work. Thanks for the help!

Yes injectors do go bad internally. Do a log and post a link here, with it being cylinder 4 you will likely see odd AFR for bank2. When they leak the AFR doesn’t get to 234 fast enough when you let off the throttle after WOT. Do you have hard cold start? Was the spark plug wet with fuel?

Hard cold starts for sure, hard to tell on the plug. Hard driving as it jerks from the misfire.

Do you have MHD? If so log using that and put your CSV file on here:

This way more people can give an opinion on what might be wrong with your car.

Start the car, run it a bit and then leave it overnight for 8+ hours. Then pull #4 spark plug and if it is wet with fuel and covered in soot thats a good indication of bad injector.

Ok started car ran for 5 min will pull plug in the morning. Let's say that it wasn't the fuel injector what possibly could be left to check? Thanks again for your time!

I can't think of much except the other things that could go wrong are the dme mosfets or hpfp/lpfp not maintaining enough pressure but those things would most likely result in multiple cylinder misfires not consistently #4.

Hey just wanted to say thanks for all the help. I moved fuel injector 4 to cylinder 3 and the misfire followed. Ordered another fuel injector.
