I was given an estimate of end of Feb to early March for mine and if I stay on this pace and track it looks like I might get it sooner as long as it makes it onto the ship leaving Altamira at the end of January.

I think it's possible for them to come out of both. I'm not sure what would cause either designation, but I assume ship availability. I know I saw in the g20 forums that some folks had a vessel out of Veracruz.

Altamira port has been super quiet lately with vessels and I don't see anything even scheduled. Veracruz has had more activity for vehicle carriers, but who knows if it's bmw, vw, etc.

My CA and BMW Genius assure me that as of today (Jan 21st) my car is at the port awaiting for a shipment. I live in Austin so I’m just waiting to get on one of the 6 ships heading to Galveston in January. Five have already set sail…hopefully my car will be on the last ship on January 24th. Otherwise I have to wait until February 23rd for next shipment…which ironically is my birthday. I’d rather be in my car on my birthday than finding out it’s shipping.

About two hours ago my car was listed as awaiting carrier and I just checked back and now it is listed as in transit. My CA said the car is on the ship Grande Mirafiori headed to the port.

Ordered on 12/4, went into production on 12/8, it took about two weeks for it to go through production and QC. Ready for transport 1/4. Went into transit today 1/21.

Man, I really feel for you. I've been going ballistic over my wait and I haven't waited nearly as long as you have. You have way more patience than I do and I admire that.

I ordered late September and I see people who ordered in late November whose car is sharing a boat ride with mine.

Anyone willing to share production number for m240i that is done and delivered? I'm in the same place as AMMG42. Started production sept/oct and have been in quality check for 10+ weeks. Sales guy knows nothing and either does BMW. I had someone from BMW call me after speaking with the genius line. She actually called to say my car was in quality check. NO KIDDING. Drilled her with what part are we waiting for? When are they coming in and what place am I in line? Had zero clue and told me to call back in a week. Would love to go at them and say why are these cars getting completed before mine?

It's that part that runs the entertainment system/radio. I believe it's basically the control unit.

Last I heard about my vehicle is that it is waiting for an infotainment unit. I asked when will this part come in, where would it come in and installed and what number in line of the queue is my vehicle. BMW Genius couldn't provide me with that information. It was also stated by the BMW Genius to call back the week of Jan 24th if I haven't heard anything new from them.

My car just moved out of QC in two days to final assembly, fingers crossed I make these next couple of ships!

For months, they've given me dates on which to call back, and not once did they have new information for me on those dates.

RAM stands for receiver audio module. A critical component of the sound system and audio controls. This started affecting various 2021 BMW models as various units were found to have defective modules that surfaced when numerous customers complained of really poor audio. My theory is they found a really huge bad batch of these modules, thus a total shortage of supply as supposed supply was defective. In response in 2021 the higher end audio systems in many models was made unavailable as an option. The quote below is from a 2021 notice from BMW. So this has been going on for some time: Obviously production of the needed supply of these modules has lagged vehicle production, i suspect exacerbated by the supply void of the bad batch.

Vehicles which require this Campaign to be completed will show it as “Open” when checked either in AIR, the "Service Menu" of DCSnet (Dealer Communication System), ISPA Next or Warranty Vehicle Inquiry.
SITUATION
BMW AG has issued a Delivery Stop (effective June 9, 2021) on certain Model Year 2021 BMW vehicles that were produced between May 7, 2021 and May 21, 2021.
The Receiver Audio Module (RAM) will need to be added to the affected vehicles. Most of the vehicles are at the VDCs and will be repaired before delivering the vehicle to the dealer.
We currently do not have parts. Please monitor the weekly Parts Matrix for updates.
Do not deliver to a customer, a New, Certified Pre-Owned or Used vehicle subject to a Delivery Stop, until the vehicle is repaired. Do not use or sell replacement equipment/parts subject to a Delivery Stop.
The bulletin will be updated when additional information becomes available
