Diagnostics Mode
Somehow I put the car into Diagnostic Mode today. I’m now really sure how. The dash said Diagnostic Mode, and the door light was blinking in a different way (quicker). I was able to then program the Homelink because the car stayed ‘on’ for a longer time. Anyone know how to put the car in this state?

Just tried mine. So you literally just get in the car, after the welcome stuff. You press the start button 3 times. I think the diagnostic mode is the "ignition on".

I’ve tried that on someone else’s recommendation, but it doesn’t seem to do anything. When I was in diagnostic mode, it actually said that on the dash.

Mine said diagnostic mode. All I did is press the start button 3 times quickly. Maybe give it a couple more try?

Pretty sure you just press the start button 3 times quickly and it should pop up Diagnostic Mode on the display. Not sure what it does other than it's like an accessory mode so you can have the car on without the engine running.

It is the proper “ignition on” mode, means all ECU gets power etc.
