Code steering rack to be quicker?

Anyone know if it's possible to code an F30 340i rack to steer quicker? I drove an F22 M235i and it goes lock to lock in one turn vs my car takes 1.5-2 turns. I looked on realoem and the entire front suspension is the same between the two cars (including the steering rack) so it's most likely a software thing.

Most likely the M235i has variable sport steering (2VL), which is not present in your F30. You'll want to retrofit that first, if you want to port that feature to your 340i

You are correct! I'll need to look into that. Thanks.

I can't find much on forums if anybody else has retrofitted it. It seems if I were to just buy a rack and install it, add 2VL to my VO, remove 216 (for Hydro Steering-Servotronic) and code the car it should be good to go?

Hi there, did you successfully retrofit the variable rack, replacing your servotronic? If you don't mind, can you share the process in detail? Is it literally 'install the new rack and code the VO'?

Exactly that. Remove 216 from FA, add 2VL, write FA, go to the code option in esys, read FA, activate FA, read (ecu), eps, right click, code, and done. I didn't need to inject CAFD into my rack but if you do need to, you just click on the module, detect CAF for SWE, press the latest one, then right click and hit code.

Thanks for your response.

2VL retrofit has been asked since 2015 and there was no one that has actually done it (or not active on the forums). It seems you are the first to have successfully retrofitted 2VL and I bet many will appreciate your confirmation.

If you wrote up a DIY guide with screenshots (for those learning to code) in a separate thread, it would get a lot of appreciations I bet!
