Well, clearly I was forewarned about the Throttle House review. Nothing more to add that already has not already been said.

Honestly the TH review is getting so much discussion in here not only because it was by far the most negative but because they have the most YT subscribers out of the journalists who’ve released a review so far. Carwow, Top Gear, etc. have way more subscribers so it’ll be interesting to see those.

Otherwise, I'll be sad that I never pulled the trigger on a F87 M2CS.

But BMW should have either gone full red or full orange. Toronto is deinitely somewhere in the middle spectrum

I get the BMW fan-boy comments and all about Joe Achilles, but he did drive the car the hardest, and he gave the best similarity/difference comparison between the M2 and the M3/4. That was pretty useful. I also appreciate how he is calm and professional and doesn't need to stoop to gimmicks and stupid tricks.

Melbourne Red has my vote. They really should have included the 240i colors.

Motor Trend is saying the M2 is ~100 lbs lighter than the M4.
Where did they get that from? https://www.motortrend.com/reviews/2...-drive-review/ "About 13 inches shorter, a quarter inch narrower, and roughly 100 pounds lighter than the M4, the new M2 ..." |

I don’t think they are goin to add more value. I mean, nice to watch them, but their videos are not related to the driving experience

*disclaimer: "tossability" means different things to different people, so interpreting this as 'ability to induce and control oversteer using throttle'. Apologies if you mean something else. |

“The new Zandvoort Blue paint job gets a silver medal to BMW's Thundernight Metallic purple (which is only available on the M2 through BMW Individual). At the same time, the smoked-out 3D taillights look epic between the subtle lip spoiler and quad exhaust tips.”
I wish Motor1. To me, the actual journalist print reviews have proven a better use of my time, except Horatiu’s informative review. |

I decided that the TR is the colour I like the most from several of the videos, I quite like the orange tones in bright sunlight. It does seem to be a colour that changes tone a lot, depending on lighting.

With that in mind, watching these reviews, I wouldn’t buy this car in manual. I also probably wouldn’t buy this car at all and have an auto G8x M3/M4 variant instead. |

So far, the reviews are mostly what I expected them to be. The car seems to be what I want. Oversimplified: "a FE-RWD 6MT daily drive sports car that is precise, good at cornering; that I can afford and fit stuff into (4 seats, trunk)."
I really don't care if a turbo motor lugs badly when it's in the WRONG gear. God gave us 6 gears for a reason. It's a weird thing to get overly concerned about, isn't it? TBF, I'm not a 0-60 guy. I care more that I can pivot this car into corners with confidence, hit the apexes, not get thrown by elevation changes, and exit clean. Especially on uneven public roads. It seems good at that, like its CLAR siblings. The only thing that I'm worried about is conflicting opinions on electric steering feel and the front end responsiveness. But on that score, I'll probably need to see for myself. |
