New M6 In The Garage ... need some input on mods.

Hey guys ... well the car really isnt in my garage ... but my Fathers (which is like 6 houses down the street from my house). He picked up a Alpine White M6 Convertable last night with black leather / SMG / and Carbon Fiber Trim. Car is sick.

He wants to put it on rims and body kit and suspension. He is in his late 50s but looks like late 40s ... so over all the mods need to be conservative. (no crazy time attacks, or wild body kits) .

I was thinking the Vorsteiner front lip for the car ... but might be open to some other ideas.

Also as for rims Im debating on size. some pics 20s look good, but in other they look small (im running 20s on my E90 and and the 6 series is a much bigger car) I was thinking maybe a 1pc 20" would be good like a Neez or soething or a 21" or 22" 3pc wheel. Whats everyone else's opinions?

I think Im going to push him to get KW V2 or H&R coilovers to keep the comfort for when we lower it as I dont really want to lose any ride quality.

i like it just how it is, but if you insist on mods, i wouldn't go bigger than 20" on the rims. the vorsteiner front kit looks good, is it possible to not have the CF lip on the bottom? back to the rims, performance degrades with size and i think it just looks tacky. but thats just my opinion.

The CF front on the Vorsteiner pic is the lip .. .the rest is the stock bumper. Im sure you could always paint it. I personally like it two tone.

As for the wheels ... you can get light weight forged rims that weight less or the same as stock. For example these 20" Neez

I normally dun like big wheels, but in your dad's case I would love to see something in the 21" range. I am sure you can find something that's lighter than the stockers and look just as sick as the Neez....

I agree ... but they are such and awkward size. WHo makes 21" wheels besides HRE? I dont think DPE does.

+1.

The M6 is already modded in such a fashionable way.

Trying to change it is like doing an "upgrade" of plastic surgery procedures on a young supermodel. It's just not neccessary.

**Front lips, bigger rims and all that other stuff are only more of a liability. (road hazards, durability, practicality, etc.)

The only mods that stay conservative and classy are rims and suspension(depending on what you choose).

Eisenmann's M6 exhaust sounds amazing! I know of a good vendor to get it from as well.

Neez QD7's along with a coil-over setup/mild drop would really improve the car. Do they come in sizes larger than 20"? Otherwise, the only other improvement I'd suggest is the Vorsteiner hood. I'm slightly biased though.

I think th Vorsteiner front lip for sure as they only other sutff I have seen is from Hamman and Im not sure Im feeling there stuff that much.

The Neez are a big + in my book ... but what I like and what my Father likes are two completely different things (I wont let him get anything ugly) but he didnt seem to be a fan of QD7s ...So maybe these QD5s

That car is so amazing as is, I would leave it alone personally. Don't go putting any ghetto wheels on or drop the car.

congrats to pops for the m6. is pricing an issue? if not

19" neez qd7 and on his choice of finish
kwv2 or if money is really a issue go for the best, moton clubsports.
vorsteiner trunk and lip are plenty enough to compliment his c/f roof.

future mods for him an intake, pulley, and software. if he wants noticable performance, supersprint.

wants more add a bbk. more then we go to interior cosmetics.

don't forget the tint and v1 hardwire

QD5's are a great choice as well. A little more conservative and will weigh less in an equivalent size.
