short of removing the engine and dynoing like that how can you get crank numbers?

Assuming the "shootout" mode takes whp numbers, factors in the drivetrain losses and calculates crank numbers..just a guess?

Ok i apologize for not asking a better question... Why do the calculations? Why even find out the crank HP? Who cares about crank HP? Ask an RS4 owner how important their crank HP is....

Very interesting!

Were SJ's Procede settings the ones of the baseline V2.0.2. 6mt map? in that case there is still room for improving the hp figure.....

No it's a good question...

In Europe we talk Crank HP. It's just always been the case.

I know it's not as accurate and that it involves lots of unknowns like transmission loss etc - but that's just the way it is.

If you asked an RS4 owner in the UK how much power his car made, he'd say 414bhp and feel pretty chuffed with that.

FYI my RWHP was 340 hp

Actually this map was a DYNO day special, so I've no idea how it compares to 2.0.2AT

Will be asking Shiv today.

Thanks!

I reckon 400 bhp = 407 hp correct?

Regards from a twin-car owner!

Not sure stefano... I was doing a little wiki research and there are LOADS of different ways to measure power on cars.

I'm not even sure the USA uses the same figures we do, a little like comparing a metric tonne to a ton.

They sound the same but they're not.

I suppose the ONLY real comparison I can do is compare my procede V2 at 399.9bhp (damn that 0.1) against E92Fan's stock 320bhp

either way I'm chuffed with the result and will be looking to eek out the next 60bhp asap !

Thanks,
I just noticed that in the US the 335 is rated for 300 bhp and in Italy for 306 hp.
It is quite common for the N54 actual output to be in the range of 310-320 hp anyways.
Please keep us posted with your car's development.... 450-460 hp is also my goal!

Stefano

PS: you do not look too gay

BHP Imperial ---> HP Metric

BHP * 1.0149 = HP

So 400 BHP = 405.96 HP
