coding E60 Help

I looked in the E60 forum but no info. Is coding the E60 platform the same as for E90? I can successfully code E90 but can't code E60.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Potentially two problem I can think of:

1. You only have E89 (e90) daten files installed. You will need to add E60 files.

2. If your e90 is pre 03/2007 and e60 post 03/2007 you may need a different cable (DCAN).

If you have good k+dcan cabel then it should work for e90 and e60.

I will have to retry and get the error code. But how do I check if the daten files for the E60 are correct or updated version or in the correct folders? I basically put them in the same folder as where my E60 daten folder is in.

I recommend using BMW Coding Tool. It will install the daten files properly.

Or, taken from another forum:

To update the daten files, copy the files from SP-daten-E##\daten to the C:\NCSEXPER\E##\DATEN (where E## is whatever chassis you're updating). You will also want to copy the files from SP-daten-E##\SGDAT to C:\NCSEXPER\SGDAT (they're not separated into different chassis in NCS Expert, so you just want to copy and paste everything to that directory. Overwrite everything it asks about). The last step to fully updating the install is copying the files from SP-daten-E##\ECU to C:\EDIABAS\ECU

+1 on the coding tool. Much simpler and less chance of screwing it up. During the update, you can choose to do a backup of the current datens or not.
