ST suspensions coilovers for E90 x-drive
Anyone notice that on ST suspensions' facebook page that they have released coilovers for the E90 x-drive platform? I put a call out to them to get pricing and availability information to learn that it was only being released in the Germany market.
The rep I spoke with mentioned that they currently don't have any intention to bringing it here to the USA but they may consider if they hear that enough folks here want them. Perhaps anyone else interested in getting these over here can respond to my post. |

There's plenty of EU-based members. Somebody could just ship it to you...

FYI: plan out customs beforehand. i don't remember how it was done for sure, but i seem to remember our parts were all unboxed and repacked so duties/tariffs/etc were less likely to be assessed.

well ST is made by KW. KW does have xdrive coilovers. Talking to a representative fo ST Coilovers, they actually only drop your car 1" before you have problems.

FYI, if you contact the forum vendors a brand new set of shiny V1's can be had for around $1200 shipped.

But i don't see why go with KW over ST. Their both made by ST just one isn't stainless steel, I'm in CA and no salts except when i go to Tahoe 1 or 2 times a year. Tiago said they are both identical in terms of performance and adjustibility, am i missing something on why to get KW? KW are $1255 and ST are $855 shipped for X-drive versions.

No.
WARRANTY: ST Speedtech Coilovers offer a 5 year Limited Warranty to the original purchaser. KW Coilover systems offer a full Limited Lifetime Warrantee to the original purchaser. The warranty claim process is still done through KW though. |

To me that, combined with the INOX coating is just good insurance on a part that takes a beating. It is a personal call though.

I clear coat any new suspension parts I get. It adds a nice durability and gloss and the parts seem to stay looking fresh longer and easier to clean.

That is a good idea. I coated my V1's with Boesheild T9 prior to installation. It acts as a corrosion inhibitor and a lubricant. The plus side is that you can apply this to the threads and other moving parts of the system and it only helps.
