Just installed VRSF downpipe

2013 335xi PPK + JB4 set to map 5, high flow filter, and now a VRSF downpipe.

I have read several reviews on this forum none of which really convinced me or drove me from an emotional standpoint to get this done due to issues with CEL light, and installation hassle of getting this installed on a XI.

To keep this brief and to the point, anyone whois on the fence about swapping out the stock downpipe DONT BE! This is of course your currently running a JB4 or other tune. The car should of came like this out of the factory. It's a whole new animal and has really added to the fun factor which simply wasn't there before. Acceleration in all gears and RPMs has increased tremendously, add that to the fact the sound of the turbo spooling, big increase in burble and pops heard, I almost want to say I look forward to getting in the car and going for a drive.

Fitment was perfect and the unit aligned, with a little play of the exhaust, perfectly. I'm very very happy with my choice and regret not having this done sooner. No idle issues to talk about. So far after two days I haven't smelled anything differently than when the catted pipe was on the car.

Install cost 250 by petrol werks out in lindenhurst,ny

Planning on getting that same downpipe as well but with no tune. I don't want to splice wires with the JB4 and Cobb doesn't support my vehicle's DME..lame.

No wire splicing necessary with the JB4.

Are you talking about the CAN wires? That's not exactly splicing and literally takes 2 seconds to do.

Maybe you're talking about an N54?

The wires are already stripped and covered with a plastic jacket that you can heat with a hair drier, splice the wire, and re-jacket.

Your not cutting anything or exposing wires that aren't already "exposed" so to speak. When you bring your car in for service the removal is about 30 - 45minutes tops. Real easy to do provided you take your time.

Here in Louisiana heat I didn't even have to heat mine up, they just slid right off. It was the best mod for the $$$ so far.

I was on the fence about installing as well but did it and love it! And with my OFT and setting the o2 sensor values to 0, I passed NC inspection!

Mine slid off as well. Just wrap the JB4 wires around and slide the tube back on.

Cobb won't work with a particular N55 DME version because that DME has a bug in it. BMW should update your DME as part of normal maintenance. Slip your SA a Starbucks gift card and get it upgraded.

I have JB4 and its not too bad to install but I managed to break some of the tabs. Get Cobb and be done with it. If you buy direct from Cobb, they offer 30 days, money back, no questions asked. Try it for 30 days and see if you like it.
