Race additive/fuel
I stopped by SK speed in Long Island, NY and purchased a product called torco accelerator. Based on the amount of additive I add I can increase octane to as high as 107.
I'm running a jb4 pre ISO, downpipe, and filter. Always use 93 octane and I have e85 wires sitting here waiting to be installed as well. My question can I safely run 97 or 104 octane with my current setup on map 7 without blowing my motor? Here is the link to the product. http://torcoracefuel.net/pro-accelerator.html |

Torco uses a mixture of Anti-Knock additives to create the same effect of higher octane fuel. The main ingredient is MMT, which is very great at suppressing knock but doesn't burn off completely and can leave residue in your engine and exhaust. This has been shown in engine teardowns where people had been using very high concentrations of Torco to attempt to get gas similar to 105+ octane. Although there was a dusty orange coating from it, it didn't affect performance or damage the engine.
It works but I wouldn't run it all the time. |
