Incredible.
This is the real muscle car era. Within the past 3 years Ford, GM, and Chrysler have put out engines with 650, 662, and 707hp. With factory warranties. And sub-$100K prices. Outrageous. |

The car is bonkers...get some slicks on it... and I'm predicting low 11@129mph

The only reason why I see that being difficult is the ZR1 will do 10.8 in minshaft air. An that is with 540-550rwhp and 530ish rwtq and about 900lbs less (~3300lbs vs ~4300lbs).
I don't see the Hellcat dyno'ing mid 600rhwp. I see 600rwhp.

Not on those puny tires it isn't. Lighter SRT Vipers sport 345mm rears, still in the low 11s. Can't hit 10s without stickier tires

The other Yank brands are doing the same with their diesel engines: everyone trying to output more torque than the other one.

It's all about the driver. Hellcat with an auto I'm sure will hit 10s with slicks.
Stock ZR1 (i.e. no slicks): 10.85 @ 129

The auto cars will get close to 10's no doubt IMO.
The advantage it will have over other 6-speed cars like the Corvettes, Shelby Mustangs, etc. will be all in the launch. Not only that but every car I've driven that ZF 8-speed in has shifted pretty quickly. No boost drop. On DR's might even be able to get a little lift from a tire. |

And BMW switched to the turbo-six... The S65 had every reason to live on in the 4.4L version, already in production. They switched to the six to save uber money by not building bespoke M motors anymore... GRRR......

So this, GT 500 or ZL1? Think I'd go Mopar.

I really hope that I'm wrong. However I'm expecting that in-gear acceleration will be balls-out insane.
