Comfort Access Gets Confused
Anyone lese have this problem ?
Everyone with the comfort access configuration needs tobe careful when BOTH fobs are in the car (like husband and wife each having fobs and both in the vehicle at the same time .....) The system can ocassionally get confused especially if the passenger gets into the car FIRST... The proximity sensors are supposed to know which is the driver, but ..... On several ocassions I have had my wifes configurations loaded on startup instead of mine when I was the driver. The first couple of times this happened realy confused me because none of her settings were loaded as she had never driven the car. So all my radio stations were blanked out, as was every configurable option that is stored in the fob. The car had to be off for 20 minutes before it would re-initialize to the contents of my fob. The issue was that she always put her purse next to the console on the passenger side and it appears that it was so close to my fob (in my pocket) that on ocassion the car would get confused and use hers instead of mine. NOW SHE PUTS HER PURSE IN THE BACK SEAT !!! PRPBLEM SOLVED !!

i thought the system has an affinity to which ever key FOB unlocks the doors and will take the settings from that key as the primary. i've never had both keys in the car, but i always assumed it worked that way...

if both people get to the car at the same time and access the door handles and each has a fob which one allows the seat, radio etc setup ?? which actually unlocked the car ??
it does get confused sometimes when both fobs are present !!

From what I understand, there is a primary fob. if Both fobs are inside, it will always pick the primary one.

I always thought it was winner take all -- whichever one unlocks the doors first becomes the dominant key fob. I've never had to test this because we leave our second key in a drawer at home.

if that happens i always assumed whichever key was closest to the driver door and unlocks the driver door becomes primary, regardless if both keys are present...again these were my original assumptions....
