come on guys! someone chime in please. because if your car charges you iphone and mine doesnt then i have a problem and need to take it in for service. all you have to do is answer this simple question so i can avoid taking it in unneccisarily.

i havent personally tried it but at my shop some of the ipod integrations do not charge the iphone. some turn the phone on hybrid mode which kills the phone and only allows ipod control from the phone. hopefully by ces in january they will have some better solutions to this iphone problem.

I can't say for certain, but I am having a similiar problem with the new Ipod Classic player. There are a few threads on this, but there are three possible solutions. The first is to make sure that your iphone has the latest apple software. Next, according to BMW, you need a new cable (part number 61 12 0 440 796) which is currently backordered. Finally, some folks have reported that the new BMW progman 27.02 or 27.03 solves this. My dealer wouldn't give me the new download because they said it wouldn't fix the problem. I've also read that this software download takes away some of the power on 335's.

Hope this helps!

Word on the street is that the early version of the 6FL iPod cable has current capacity problems that prevent larger (HDD or touch-screen) iGadgets from charging. The later part fixes this.
