H&R Race Springs for xdrive LCI sedan?
Hey everyone, I know one tread says the rears only for XI and I are compatible. My question is - is there actually a set of H&R Race Springs for the xDrive? I have E90 LCI sedan Xdrive. Many the link below is it or that still wont fit? If not I may just go KW V1
PS- Using TMS filtering it says it wont fit. So i am guessing the "compatibility" list is false? http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-12...FRJk7AodcVoAeQ Last edited by JPflip509; 07-10-2014 at 10:54 PM.. Reason: more info |

just my experience here:
But i had H&R sports on my coupe and hated the rears. The drop upfront was damn good and cushioned . I then did research and found out that we could use the 335"i" rear springs..i then switched over to eibach pro kit "i" springs and never had a regret since. GL to ya ...ps if your wanting HR race just for the lower stance then you just might be better off going with the KW's as stated abve i have HR sports and the right was horrible even with the bilsteins!

I don't have any first hand experience with H&R Race springs, but everything that I've read and heard says that they are very harsh. If that's what you want then go for it, but many people who have ran H&R Sport springs, which aren't as aggressive as the Race springs, have said they are even too harsh.
A few threads worth checking out: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...mp%3BR+springs http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...mp%3BR+springs http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...26&postcount=8

It seems that there are a number of disappointed people with H&R springs. For a shock/spring combo eibach paired with either Koni or Bilsten are higher rated options. I have V1's and like them a lot. There was recently a post on here with a very favorable review on H&R coilovers too.

i'd avoid H&R springs like the plague. my e46 had em and it was so harsh. Id go with KWs or Eibach springs if i were you paired to koni yellows

So you'd recommend these for my 2008 335xi sedan?

Quite a few people here are telling you to stay away from them, if you decide to go ahead and try them please let us all know how it works out. Oh and BTW all springs that fit i models also fit xi models. So quite a few folks have put race springs on xi. Maybe that will get you the drop you want. However, and I will add my voice to the other,s they are very stiff springs. Pairing them with "good" shocks doesn't mitigate that, it makes it worse. Since "good" shocks are often firmer than stock and esp firmer than blown out stock shocks. So if combining super stiff springs with firmer shocks in order to get the ride height you want (oh, and bottom out a lot) then go for it. But please remember you've been warned. You need to spend some coin on decent coil overs or cut down shocks (like special konis) in order to get real low without bottoming in front, due to the AWD compromises made by BMW up there. IN addition you have to pay close attention to bump stops and fender clearance with tires and wheel offsets. |
