Beep when accelerating (fbo e50) (problem solved!)

Hey guys,

So I have been hearing a strange beeping sound when accelerating. Didn't bother me that much before since it wasn't so loud. But... Just installed BMS new Cowl Filters that allows more sound being transfered into the car.
Sadly, but not unexpected, the beeping noise can now be heard 5x louder inside the car. It's driving me nuts. Possibly an air leak or something, would appreciate if you guys listened to the vid linked below.

Could be. Boost isn't failing, wouldn't it do so if the inlet tube went off?

No, not if it is the intake side. It is a common problem on our cars and can cause some strange noises

Got it. The shop did a smoke test a few weeks ago and there was a minor leak at the turbo inlet. So maybe it'a worse now and acting out. Seems like quite time consuming to get that tube fixed.

Don't know about yours, but I am pretty sure the sound is coming out from the driver side, where the charge pipe and DVs are located.

OP, tightened down all the clamps (CP, FMIC, etc.) simple enough to do by yourself and potentially save yourself the trouble of going to the shop.

solved mine after i redid my FMIC clamps.

There was another thread pointing to install of the cone filters , specifically the rear, that when pushed back , caused the inlet to come loose. Either causes a siren sound or similar sounds like whistling.

Subbed to this thread.

Installed BMS CP and Forge DV's. Had to pull everything apart due to installing DV's the wrong way up. After reinstalling everything, including DCI's and checking hose attachment point on rear inlet turbo inlet piping, I am now experiencing a turbo whine that was not there before.

Will keep a close eye on hey you go with it.

Just came back from the shop. Had the car up on the lift and indeed the rear turbo inlet tube wasn't pushed all the way in. Wasn't that far out either but we managed to push it in a tad more.
Went for a test drive and the beep still appears on heavy load. My mechanic doesn't think that the beep is turbo related, more likely a hose or connection releasing air at higher boost levels.

We did a pressure test (smoke) a few weeks ago, like I wrote before, but it was only at about 12psi. The shop will manufacture the needed equipment so we can pressurize the system at 20-23psi. I'm currently running at 17,5 psi boost. Hopefully this will be done on Thursday. First we need to find the right measurements (without taking mine off) for the VRSF 7" intercooler silicon couplers (IC to CP), the shop has sent a question through the website.

Just got back from the shop, problem solved. Turned out that the clamps between my FMIC and CP weren't tightened down enough, so your guess was spot on.

When we did the smoke test a few weeks ago it was on 10-12psi. Since I couldn't understand what the f* was making this noise I asked for one more pressure test. This time we ran higher pressure and the noise came on at about 15psi. So that explained why I only heard the beeping noise when I stepped on it a bit more. Lesson learned, pressure test the system on the appropriate psi level if you're running higher than stock boost..

I'm going to check rear turbo inlet piping as it may have moved putting on the Forge DV hose.. then removing it... then putting it back on. There is a good chance I might have moved it enough to slip out of the turbo inlet.

Will also check all vacuum lines for leaks. Car has 40k miles and I haven't looked at them yet.

Will get a boost pressure check done as well. Between these 3 actions hopefully I can get it sorted.
