I imagine a ring would get chewed up and spit into all kinds of places it probably shouldn't that probably won't be good for the engine

Check the splash guard under tray it probably just went all the way down

A chewed up o-ring probably won't do much to your engine truthfully. I've dropped 100's of oil pans in my life (to change the gaskets) and I've witnessed all types of chewed up crap that didn't harm anything. Just my 2 cents though..

That's good to hear actually. I guess an o-ring is pretty tiny compared to some other things.
