Coding on Windows 8 64bit

Has anyone been able to get INPA to work on windows 8? I just tried installing it just to see if it would open and I get a message of "This app can't run on your PC". Anyone know how to get around this or do I need a windows 7 laptop?

When first installed and ran it asked if I wanted to run in compatibility mode, worked ever since. The only issue Im having now is the BT cable fails if I try to log more than 3 parameters, not even BavTech can figure it out. So I will have one of those for sale soon.

When you first tried to run the application it asked to run in compatability mode? I dont think I had that option

You should be able to right click on the shortcut and run in compatibility mode.

I will need to give that a try when I get to my laptop, but does the problems you stated before stop you from coding at all?

I'm interested in basic coding like mirrors fold with lock button and simple stuff like that.

For some reason I can't run in comparability mode, its not an option. I have the option to test comparability and I have the option to test it in Windows 7, Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and Windows Vista (Service Pack 2). None of these seem to work tho so I don't know what to run it in or how to get it started.

64 bit is the issue. If it were 32 bit, you would be good to go.

I think I finally got it, I was able to install INPA, NCS-Expert, Tool32, and WinKFP on my Windows 8 using compatability mode. I was able to open them so I believe now I just need to learn how to code lol!

Now after finally getting it installed and going through many help guides I can't seem to get INPA to communicate with my car. Neither one of the black dots will come up and I don't know what to do. Idk if its my wire or if I have done something wrong. Any advice or a link to a well detailed and updated help thread would be greatly appreciated

Did you remember to set the cable to com1 and the latency???

Also, the dots won't turn black if the program is already open when the cable is connected. Connect it first, then open the program. If still nothing check cable settings. If still nothing again, I hope the cable you bought is white/clear with the GREEN board inside.

1 more thing...if you have a JB4 you must have it on 0

Thank you for this, I uninstalled all the software that I downloaded from a dropbox file and installed the CD that came with my Cable. Suprisingly it had the software on it with a walk through of how to get INPA installed correctly. As of now I got INPA installed and when I connect the cable to my car I get the two black dots!

However for some reason now my computer wont open NCSexpert... It says its not compatible with my comp (win 8 64bit) even though I have INPA, Tool32, WinKFP all working on my laptop. Do you think I should download the NCSexpert from the dropbox file like I had done previously because that one would actually open on my laptop? Or could that possibly further mess things up?

No clue on why it won't work. I used the thread floating on here to get mine working. I followed it word for word with the newer 50.2 Datens and the English install of INPA. Everything worked for me from the start.

There's gotta be a way to make Win8 open it in compatibility mode, but I'm not sure.

You could try the Dropbox version, but it may jack things up further, who knows.

Didn't work for me either, but everything else was fine. Try reading the error faults in INPA. I think it's F5 once you get past the ECU selection screen.

I can't get my Vin to load in ncsexpert either. I'll try to post images of the errors

coded yesterday with my 8.1 laptop. No issues so far. Never an error code. All I did yesterday was pull the files to use in NCS Dummy. I will write back tomorrow the modules I pulled. There are a few that I could not find in my car that makes me question a few things but Ill get by.
