My purchasing experience was great tony answered all my questions and he basically dealt with me being annoying quite well... I will not be doing this install because when I moved I had to sell all my tools because I had no room for them.. I will have it done at a shop and they will take pics which I'll post.. as far as install difficulty it seems 100% easy basically take one turbo off install the other make sure all aligns tighten and go.. only hard part will probably be the forged DV install..

Im currently FBO running ISO jb4 firmware the shop I chose now wont be charging me more than 3-5hrs labor considering people have done the upgrade in that time frame if it takes them 6hrs I wont complain considering its their first N55 upgrade any longer and we'll have personal issues because im not trying to get ripped off.. although im not sure id like to say price will be around 300-500dollars max but again dont go by what I say just yet.
As far as fine tuning once im done with the install I will be doing numerous Logs to send to Terry so he can help me make a custom map for the car in order to extract the full potential of the turbo. Once that's done if need be I will be buying a upgraded LPFP and running Cobb flash. But im jumping ahead of myself here for now I will be getting the install done first. Reason its not done is the shop master tech is on vacation. |

Dang, for that price I'll load up my car and have it shipped to them. Most shops are quoting 10-15hrs at 110-130/hr. |

Why 10-15hrs? Thats N54 turbo swap times. Even the other competitors turbo has been installed in a time frame of 3-6 hrs max any more time and its safe to assume your tech is taking a little too many breaks..

Completely agree; I'm hesitant to do it myself although i'm likely capable of doing the work...you got any plans of upgrading? Even if I had a second set of experienced hands, the install would be that much less stressful!

It honestly isnt hard I just dont have proper tools for the install.. simply lift the car remove down pipe move around water lines and thermostat and unclamp the CHRA part of the turbo.. from what I see its only clamped on.. from there you just align the new chra and tighten the clamp and bam
