Foot rest module... Reset or Replace?

I just read a few articles on another website stating that after your fog light pops, the FRM tries to reset itself. If it doesn't work within about 10 tries, it stops trying and sends an error code which cuts power to the FRM specifically to the faulty part. The guy said he took it get reset from his friend for 40 euros or something like that and it works perfectly fine now. He didn't mention any burnt fuses or replacing anything. I just want to look at a few things before dishing out some money to reset the FRM. Which fuses should be checked if they are blown?
The thread that I read: http://forums.m3cutters.co.uk/showthread.php?t=85543
MY back story of the faulty fog lights: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=909496

It really is. You can read up all you want about how to please a woman, you can look at all the diagrams in the world, but just like the clitoris, you won't know what the hell an apex is before you actually find it.

Don't fear it can be coded easily. I had the same problem and I reset it. I'll try and find the thread from another forum that helped me out. If you have the cable and software you can do it yourself.

havjng the cable and software is good you can code things and check fault codes and reset adaptations. well worth it imo. get BMW standard tools which has everything basically if I remember correctly and get the one stop electronics cable. kinds expensive but guaranteed to work.

a simple footwell module reset should be suffice if that doesnt work, a brand new footwell module will be needed.

Thank you. Do you know how much the average cost for the reset is?

Is the FRM reset as simple as clearing all codes?
