warranty advice 335i

aright lads, as a few of you might know my car has been throwing a couple problems over the last couple months.

i had a few injectors replaced a couple months ago which gave me the kick up the arse to get a BMW extended waranty.

i got that done on the 10th june, which meant i couldnt make a claim until 10th july (1 month)

now between taking out the warranty in june and being able to claim just the other week on 10th july, the car fired a steering lock problem code, and has been misfiring again. the warranty has obviously begun now so i could take it to dealers BUT when they check the cars ECU they will see that both the steering lock & misfires occured BEFORE 10th july when the warranty actually started.

So my question is, could i go to a garage and have them erase all of the codes stored in the car, then when they fire again they will appear to have only just started after the warranty has begun, you get me?

wondering if this can be done

Cheers lads

hahahah regarding what you think?

if the power steering, then ive already had it looked at by an independent and its safe, and working. nothing sinister he thinks. Probably just coding. but your probably right online forums in general tend to attract a lot of virgin do-gooders, we will see...

And if you have a smart phone and bluetooth ODBII dongle then you can do it yourself using the Torque app which is great.
