Anyone run the BMS Kickdown blocker?
I ordered mine today, since i could find the Rubber sticks to block the sensor at Lowe's to do the DIY, was curious if anyone else runs one and how well it works
Thanks for any input! |

I used rubber plumbing washers. I needed 5 of them to completely block kickdown and still have 100% throttle on WOT. Works like a charm! The rubber sticks that BMS recommends worked for awhile but the glue started to degrade over time. Washers work much better for me. Thanks to WEDGE for suggesting this.

Lowes had them in stock locally.

Holds the gear longer for a smoother power band, and lets the engine run peak boost throughout the gear. It's also an essential thing to have if you dyno your car.

It works. If it doesn't fit then you dont have the pedal type it was made for...

Yes, it's definitely a type A and what they sent me does not fit. I've tried getting it on several times now.
Not my first unpleasant experience with BMS actually. |

Gripper bars work perfect. I used a little super glue to make sure they stay in place. Only problem is with my 335is and the DCT you need to be able to engage the kickdown to enable launch control which isn't really a problem unless you're going to the strip. I'll probable switch over to the BMS solution to have the best of both worlds.

I don't know if other pedals are different, but on my type A pedal you can definitely feel the kick down button. As long as you are not slamming on the throttle, don't see how you can activate it accidentally.
